Apparently Fillipo Fiore played for LS B Grade on the weekend.
Firstly, could Kocksy/Steakn confirm that?
And CU/CMH, has he been cleared?

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

I would advise that coaches worry about winning a game than worry about the umpiring

To answer ur question cu, I know we are under the pump with numbers but some of them clearly do not know the rules of the game. When blatant free kicks for things like hand in the back and handling the player after he has taken a mark, are commmitted right in front of the umpire and there is no whistle ????. And there was plenty of these particular types of infringements.
I certainly believe we have too many umpires who are out there that probably (can't say that I really know for sure) never played the game. And I reckon that if they had they would have more of an idea and understanding
There was no bias on Saturday one way or another but geez they would not blow the whistle and then all of a sudden one would come out of the blue. Some [eople might say good, let the game flow. Well that would be good however a free kick is a free kick.

Watched the 1998 replay of Crows v Noth Melb. yesty. What a joy to watch a game without all this bullshit laws of the game we have now and that was only 10 years ago. The sooner they get rid of Denetriou and Anderson the better.

Back to the local umpires, heard the B match between W and LS was extremely well umpired

No problems at Centenary. Easton, Bascombe and Pedler did our A grade and were fine.
B Grade umpiring was very good as well. Blewy and some other guy who I have not seen umpire before.

Fiore played CHF for LS B's. Originally played junior footy for Waybacks, then went to Boston. Handy ressies player at best.

FF played B grade for us usually at Full Forward, has got plenty of talent but very lazy. Got dropped the week we had 19 players miss out on a b grade game because he stands against the fence for most of training and was out of form this year, so he cracked the shits and left.
He also has played for Cougers.
Cant wait to play against him, maybe MP can stand him

Just on the umpiring this weekend, I thought it was pretty good in the A grade. Were a few mistakes but it went both ways. But the umpires seem to wory about what is being said from the side lines too much and complained about swearing. There was your normal slander at the umps but we have been told to keep the language down and it was at a min. But the language on the field was pretty bad and maybe they should look at that instead of worrying about the supporters.
B grade umpiring was prob the best it has been all year. Well done to Branno for his first umpiring roll.

Malle Park Oval = Attrocious

Mallee Park oval was attrocious, but it didn't look like it bothered the MPFC going by the results..
Anyone know what happened to Hayden Parker from Marble Range haven't seen his name lately, is he injured or something?

Haydn has been playing quite well and usually in or close to best players list. Hasn't dominated games in the last coupla weeks but still ranking high. Proving to be a very good captain of our Club as well.
Did an ankle on Saturday and went off the ground early in the last 1/4. Unlikely for the Eyre Peninsula match next weekend and is a bit upset about that as he is one of those blokes that would like to play in a rep match. Might be a bit early, but as it was after the game, understand he wouldn't have played next weekend if it was a Club match.

Wasn't there a form that club heirarchy had to sign off on before footy was played at each venue or has that gone by the wayside ?

All home clubs have to complete a match day report where the oh@s issues are covered.

And you are right, mallees are very used to the ground and play it well. Lack of grass and uneven cover gives for some ordinary bounces, but they have that under control.
Luckily we have played our one and only game there, but if your club has issue with the ground then it can take it up with the PLFL. It just needs to be wayered, and if July is dry then I would not like to be playing on it in Round 13.

As for swearing, whether it is on the field or over the fence it cannot be tolerated. It is like a disease and spreads like wild fire if left un treated. Our under 15 umpire on Saturday, could not believe the language being used on the field bu 13 & 14yo kids.

You have probably been told as much about him as I have. Ex Adelaide Plains player. Kicked a ton a coupla times. Big man about 30 and has had 2 knee recons. Played his 1st game last Satdy (I think for a coupla years) and looked OK but probably fair to say a biy rusty. Kicked 3 I think. Not 100% fit but give him a few weeks of match practice and ???. Obviously knows where the goals are and may well be another attacking option and/or replacement for an injury prone Sarge.
Not much said about young Scott Butler but in only his 2nd game he may well push for an A grade berth soon too. Was good in his 1st game agin Souths 2 matches ago but a bit quieter Satdy but nevertheless still plays alright.
Wouldn't like to be on the selection panel over the next few weeks out at Wangary. Some 1st choice A grade players set to resume.
