IMO, too many players are playing within themselves based on their reputations from the past and this year this is clearly evident in some of the performances we have put together. Centrals sides of the past have taken pride in not having to rely on just 3 or 4 stars, they seem to be able to get the best out of AT LEAST 15 or 16 blokes on the day and results have come accordingly. This year, too many blokes look flat, dis-interested (big thing to say, I know, but at times it does look like their minds are elsewhere) and too many have just left the slack to be taken up by our 3 or 4 only consistant performers this year in Paul Thomas, James Gowans, Chad O'Sullivan and maybe throw in young Dan Havelberg.

That is exactly the same as the Eagles this year. Just replace the names Thomas, J Gowans, O'Sullivan and Havelberg with Treeby, Powell, Passador and Fitzgerald.

Does anyone have more info on Moss, how he plays, whats he like...is he AFL potential?

thanks

Hey corona,

Mossy has had a pretty consistant year in the reserves so far in season 08, barring about 3 weeks out with a foot injury I think. He has mainly be playing across half back in a sweeping role and probably on half a dozen occasions, has been named in the best players. He has spent a little bit of time through the midfield and on a wing but like I say, has mainly been dominating in defence. A couple of times this year he has been named in our league extended squad only to miss out but I think he deserves his chance this time round and will go okay.

He has a lovely set of hands on him and has already taken a couple of hangers this year as well as not being afraid to back into a pack showing courage and determination. Is pretty well skilled on both sides of his body and has a good fitness base seemingly running out games fairl well. Maybe at times, tries to do a little bit too much with the footy and can be prone to turning it over but all in all, is a very impressive youngster that IMO does have a future at AFL level.

I'm really pleased to see James get his SANFL league debut this week and hope he plays really well. If he wants to continue to impress the Crows coaching staff, he needs to confidently take the next step and perform consistantly against the bigger bodies and men of league football. I think that he will play well and have no doubts he has a real future at the highest level and I'm really glad he is plotting his future here with Centrals. I would be very suprised if James Moss doesn't find himself promoted to Adelaide's senior list for season 2009.

GO U DOGGIES & MOSSY...

If you are right holden78 and Pass doesn't line up today, I think this increases the chances of a Doggies win a little bit more...

I think your mob have struggles to kick a winning score when Pass isn't playing and I bet you I can guarentee Yves Sibenaler is happy that the Big Pass is likely to not play as he always seems to be the one player who gives our best full back a bit of grief !!??

No Pass = No functional Eagles forward line = 25 point win to Doggies

Even if Pass isn't playing, I still think it will be closer than what a lot of people are predicting...

Yes, the Dogs ARE capable of pumping the Eagles today but the inconsistant form we ave shown so far this year makes me think we will bounce back from last week but just do enough to win by under 5 goals in a hard fought, scrappy win...

Again, I'll be more than happy to be proved wrong and would love nothing more than to be able to report on a Doggies 10 goal win...
Just about to leave for the lovely Woodville Oval shortly, if anyone wants to come and say hi to me, I'll be the one on the outer side, opposite the centre wing grandstsand in a blue Centrals jumper with my bloody crutches (busted my ankle at basketball !!)...

I want the eags to show some balls and guts and pride in the jumper that goes for the coach as well ! Still no lee and a couple of other players still getting a game so the coach has started off on the wrong foot .

Can't agree BP. I don't think Passador has much of a history in hurting the Dogs. I asked this of Spell_Check last season (or the one before) and he posted stats that pretty much confirmed that he rarely has a day out against Centrals. I think Schwarze is more of a threat than Passador.
Perhaps if you have it to hand Spelly you could put up some figures again.
With you in something though Big Phil, Go The Dogs!
