They may well be stuffed when this new housing development kicks in over there and the formula changes for them. I have a feeling however that they will find a way around this (a few sleeping in caravans on grain farms).

Hey skipper I don't think that will make much difference at the moment, the "population" part of the formula is out of whack anyway. Barossa District area is bigger than Nuriootpa's, Tanunda and Angaston if you look at the latest census data. Lyndoch is a boom town (in growth) and when you add in Williamstown up goes the population, dare I say the import allocation in the Barossa League has never quite benn nailed...yet!

I don't think we have seen the best out of Barossa this year. Willaston will get more players and they will do so after the cut off point as Nobby is their No1 card holder.

That's an interesting quote there Holden, are you suggesting that Willaston might be allowed to twist the rules???

Over the number of years I have seen Willaston not go by the rules and they are not picked up by it. 1. Under17's playing boys to old - nothing done, 2. A grade players not going to Association trainings - nothing done, and so on.

Can anyone tell me why Freeling suck so badly this year? Didn't they make the last two GFs?

They don't have the manpower this year. I have seen them a few times this year and it looks like they don't have a game plan. The last few years you could see it and it worked.

This week
Barossa District vs Angaston
Nuriootpa vs Freeling
Gawler Central vs Tanunda Game of the round
Kapunda vs Willaston

Barossa District vs Angaston
Nuriootpa vs Freeling
Gawler Central vs Tanunda Game of the round
Kapunda vs Willaston[/quote]

Barossa by lots, wouldn't have happy memories after the round one draw debarcle.
Nuriootpa, dunna why, tossed the coin and fell in their favour, where are the Tiger supporters they are supposed to be so proud about ther club, get behind them don't hide at the Vine Inn.
Tanunda in a very close game, absolute match of the round, memories of last years prelim to erase for magpies, but Galwer Central are the team to watch in the second half, sneaking under everyone's radar but that will change.
Willaston, will increase the pressure on South when they come back from the bye if they win this as that puts them two games clear at least for a week!

Barossa V Ango
Nuri V Freel
GC V Tan
Kap V Willaston

Barossa will crunch Ango while the almost there Nuri to defeat the hapless Freeling. Freelings list reads reasonably well but there are some major problems there and if they lose this one I wonder if there will be any changes. Match of the round for sure, Tanunda for me only on form, their average winning margin this year is 60.5 points and the B grade is 79.13. Willaston over the up and down Kapunda, Willaston with the new recruits to start consolidating 4th spot.

Gawler Centrals will need all the help they can get. The problem with a young talent is the Blockie machine may well eat them up and spit them out. I still think Centrals are a quality side that is slipping under the radar but I have seen the Blockie side and it reads pretty well. Agars CHB and the rest of that backline is amazing. Keep an eye on the sleeping giant Barossa.

G'day blokes! Just wondering what the goal kicking ladder looks like at this stage? From out of the area, but I keep seeing A. Kennedy in the paper kicking a lot of bags. Can anyone enlighten me how many he has? Actually, it would be interesting to see a ladder from all the leagues combined. Keep up the good work guys!

Was down seeing Barossa & Ango this week. Barossa look very good and what is with the Ango head coach? He looks like he has epilepsy & terrets all in one. I believe a coach should call out to the players but please relax. Looking at the way the games went this week The last game for the season looks to be Barossa & Tanunda.

I'm with you on all count Holden06, last game will be between the Blockies and Barossa, plenty of blockie around Williamstown and Lyndoch, so one of them will be cracking out the vintage port and metty. I spoke to someone who was at GC V Tan game and he reakoned the blockes controlled the game and should have won by more. Plenty of blood spilt but not through dirty tatics and maybe some injuries to come out that clash. As you mentioned Holden06 Ango's coach is on another planet, he has been heard at quarter time speaches directing certain players to take out opposing players through suspect methods. I heard one opposing president then approached Ango's president and said that this is not good enough and this wouldn't be tolerated at their club.

RE, angaston coach. i watched only 1 qtr & listened to his 1/4 time address, & as i said he was "enthusiastic". since then i did some homework on him. coached GX b's to premiership, winning assoc B&F on the way. did well at TTG juniors. did well at Birdswood [2 GF's from memory,[sorry i should've written all this down]].not a success at golden grove [but ex-coach hovering in background]. seems to be improving the Ang. team from last year. got this from some-one who played under SJ as a senior player [ who never received instructions to do anything against the spirit of the game, as against being hard at the player with the ball ]. and as a very good footy story ask him what his "secret" weapon was against Hectorville was in the last 1/2 of the last game of the season in his 1st year of coaching.[again from memory].still a good story no matter when it happened. good luck to him ,as he seems to be the sort of person football needs to be involved in the game

Willaston loss could be very important at season's end, Willaston with a bye this week (?) Can Kapunda cause another upset and defeat Tanunda this week?

Angaston coach..HMMMM...not too sure his style is good for a young side?? Telling loss for the young panthers on the weekend.

Freeling..OH DEAR, doing a Port Power, in last years Grand Final and this year they can't buy a victory (freudian slip there maybe!!)

Slipper, there are rumours flying around that the Donny's had a rough weekend including injuries, players fighting on field, and a certain 'star' of the side walking out after the match following an altercation with the coach... can you clear up this situation for us??
