The problem here IMO is not this years recruiting, its the inability to replace or fill the other spots with locals!!! I understand that the Panthers dont have a big home town, but they do pool from Murray Bridge, & their Juniors of the last 5 years just aren't their in any real numbers. Yes they have some but not enough, although if they were aloud to develop by playing A's instead of SOME of the recruits, now might be a very different situation for the club. Granted they may not have 4 Premierships, which is very Enviable, but the would have a sustainable list with a good mix of Fantastic recruits & locals.

All I'm saying is the AMOUNT of players coupled with the $$$$$ they are on is going to be hard for the club to keep up. That doesn't mean it cant be done, but it will be hard

I think if you asked almost anybody involved in the running of a football club about the number of recruits they would like. The answer would come back some where between 5 & 8. Now even you Panthers on here cant dispute (or Shouldn't) that currently you guys have too many recruits running around with the number being up around 14 or even 15

Should definately keep Pantha32 though

Again Big man, its not about THIS YEAR. Its about the years prior, & replacing those who they've lost. Not adding to the already too many. It would be different if those other sides already had 10 recruits, but they DONT

true P32, but at what EXPENSE is the key word here others are getting at i think...
Not $ expense, rather in what shape is JFC going to be in in 3, 4, 5 even 10 years time after bringing in all these blokes to play out there.
granted there will be many pennants hanging above the bar, but how many $'s will be left and how will the senior list be fairing, given that a small % of the juniors list gets the opportunity to develop and play senior footy at a young age.
to conquer the league is one thing, but to rape and pillage the club in the process is another....

The commitee at JFC arent a bunch of retards. They wouldnt be over doing anything... we put the best team on the park and thats what counts. ramblers beat us the other week by a drumming. Than they got done by mypo. we all have recruits and we all spend money! The RMFL just has this attitude towards JFC because we win the big games. If we werent in the spot light being around the mark we would be like tailem. recruits that do nothing.

Tailem recruited this year essentially to remain alive, they needed to put a team on the park that was competitive, they didn't recruit this year to win a premiership, but to give their young guys a chance to develop whilst not losing by 30 goals every week.

Tailem's recruiting throughout the 90's was exceptional, they supplemented their locals and juniors with some good recruits. These days as i said, its just about ensuring the club survives.
