I am very scared you are correct EHL .
I'm a proud, passionate and loyal supporter of our great club mickyj and I found those words very difficult tp type. I'd love to see us snatch a vicory here and get our season back on track but I just can't see how we can do it.

I hear lots of good things about Goldsworthy and see he was named in the best again for the reserves. He is only 16, but for those that have seen him play, could he physically handle league footy already? If so, would surely be a chance for selection this week?

Have to disagree about McKenzie. He is too slow to play a permanent role in midfield and really is only good for a quarter or so.
In my mind Fuller is intent on playing youth but won't admit that some youth are not up to it. Fairclough is an example. He is a favourite of Fuller's but his form simply cannot warrant selection. Yet he'll continually get a game.
As far as recruiting our biggest let down (as has been mentioned already) is our inability to recruit genuine ball winning midfielders. Yes recruits like Treeby have turned out ok but we recruit these guys as unestablished 19-20 year olds who then develop as opposed to ready made VFL recruits such as Clayton, Callinan, Allan etc. This is a hit and miss strategy.
Unfortunately the eagles are not in the financial position to go chasing these stars and so have to rely on locals and 'lesser named VFL players' with the hope they will turn out ok. However at the end of this year I'd expect a bit of cash available with players such as Colville, Cicca, Passador who I think will all retire/return to Vic. Also some money from premature departure of Biagi.
We really have to snare that 'in and under' type rover and an onballer who can play a similar role that Cicca has played over the last 10 years. I am quite prepared to concede this year as long as there is a plan in place for next year regarding recuiting.
With this week in mind I'd like to see Lee get promoted. He is continually in the best in the reserves and Roberts has not set the world on fire. I can't see too many changes apart from that. I actually think the team on paper against Sturt looked pretty decent as far as structure and I think its a confidence thing at the moment.

Confidence and Team changes during the game more rightly I think.
Your other point of finding that in and under player has been part of my arguement .With the above mentioned players leaving why is the club not at every rep game looking at players in the 23 yo age group.
For me Lee and Couch in .
And Lee to be brought in to try and change our 1 dimensional RUCK DIVSION.Would it hurt every now and again to thump the ball to CHF the wing etc.
