Tex

Hahndorf to beat Mt Lofty? You're dreaming! Devils are as strong as they were last year! Flag is as good as theirs.
Agree Onkas over Mt Barker
Lobey to beat Bridgy
Ironbank to beat Birdwood
Uraidla to good at home for Blackwood

Long odds Tex, very long odds! Devils got up by a lazy 12 goals. Would be a game man to tip a against them.

A clinical performance today really. Hahndorf were very competitive in the first half but with 5 mins to go in the second quarter with scores even, Lofty went bang, bang, bang. Went in at half time 20 points up and that was the end of it. Devs kicked the first 3 in the third within 5 minutes of the re-start and the germans dropped their heads like they'd just lost the war....again. Lofty had winners all over the ground, their attack on the ball was phenomenal! With Gordon back next week, i think the cutters could get the result of round 1 reversed on them in a big way!

Seen a Barker player out last night, they were leading 10 goals to 1 at half time and got beaten! Onkas apparently kicked 4 goals in last 5 mins to snatch win! mighty effort by Bulldogs by the sounds.

Blackwood are going well. Reckon they are a bit stronger than last year with a bit more leg speed. Unfortunately for them Mt Lofty are just as strong as they were when they belted Blackwood in the qualifying final last year. They are certainly in with a good chance, probably of running second. A number of teams are reasonably even this year and any of them could make the gf but the Devils do look pretty good.

Blackwood and Lofty have played yes. They played against each other under lights at Devil Park. Twas a close game up until 3 qtr time. Lofty kicked away in the last to win by 5 goals. You might say class prevailed in the end.

Will be a big game next round mind you.

Devils v Uraidla should be an interesting game this weekend. After getting flogged in round one, it'll be interesting what the youthful Devils side can come up with. On the big oval of Cabbage land though, i'd expect the boys to run the lines and win by a few.

How did Cooper pull up after last weeks game does anyone know? If Hahn can get everyone fit and going, they could become a contender for sure.

Your question could apply to Kaesler too Dashin, he is not in good nick at the moment. A major difference between Lofty and Hanhdorf is that Cooper and Kaesler would not be playing at the moment if they played for the devils as they would be rested to get their injuries right. Hahndorf will not be a contender if they continue playing their top players with chronic injuries, they'll break down before finals if not rested.

I heard Jason Williams was playing footy out at Bridgewater but recently quit? Was he any good? I heard he was a bit overweight, especially from his playing days as an Adelaide 36er!

Hahndorf would have to be pretty disappointed being in the position they are in at the halfway point, with all the big names they have most people guessed they would have been right up there as a premiership favourite. Are Hahndorf the St Kilda of the HFL this year?

I think Hahndorf need all their big names playing to be competitive and if some are out, or playing with injury the rest of the group is not that good. Remember last year without these big names they were pretty awful you can not change the main group that quickly it will take time. I think dangermouse is right but if they rest them, they may not make the finals.

What happened last week Rooster and Gimp your first two quarters were deplorable but your third was very good?

If I could tell you that I would be earning 6 figures coaching AFL. :D

I can't actually comment as I missed the A grade, but from I heard our 3rd quarter was the best we've played since being in div 1. We've just got to try and play more of that footy and we will start pushing the higher sides and snatching a couple of unexpected victories.

Any comments on the umpiring? From what I was told it was a disgrace.

I was also told that Williams didn't do a lot and got beaten....yet made it into the best
