State of Origin 2006! Punchfest for us Southerners,Rik-E-Boy would be in the middle of maroon madness up there in QLD,probably sprouting off about the last three series wins to the Blues and how little chance the Banana-benders have this time round, for mine,NSW to win easy.QLD young inexperienced team,a new coach and plenty to play for,NSW steady as she goes, and Rik-E-Boy to make his work mates as happy as a Cats fan in September,LOL.

Bring it on.Hey Rik-E,us southerners get it on TV at 9:30 tonight! Best time for years,CH9 might even get a rating win out of it,ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!

One of teh beauties of living in VIC don't get he endless *yawn* coverage of SOO compared to the NT

SOO went out with crop tops, stone wash jeans and MC Hammer in my books as a sporting event of any relevance. can't wait to see Australia play that RL power Lebanon again...

Just keep flogging that dead horse channel nine......

How much more hype can John warrren and the male model from Mudgee put into a series non-event
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

QUEENSLANDER!

No Johns, no NSW.

Goodnight Cockroaches!

SOO went out with crop tops, stone wash jeans and MC Hammer in my books as a sporting event of any relevance.

About the same time Glenelg were of any relevance.

What a coincidence!

NSW 17-16 in an absolute bottler of a game after leading 14-0 at half time.QLD had a chance in the last 30 seconds after a NSW fumble, following the field goal that put them 17-16 up.What a cracker!

it's where you come from dude,

To me AFL is boring wathcing kick after kick, had I been raised on AFL it wouldn't be boring.

I was raised and lived in NSW for 22years, Am trying to learn AFL and love the SANFL.

But you watch the Rugby and League, These are the big men, the gladiators, the agression, Rugby is the most physical sport palyed in the world.

As aussies we are lucky to be able to have so many different codes played on a international level, excpet AFL of course!!'

Why don't we embrace them all

Go socceroo's go Wallabies, Go kangaroo's Go.....What is the AFL international team called????

how can u call it football? they only use their feet after every 6 tackles. at least the other two codes use their feet as the primary way to move the ball around the field.

I agree, its an incredibly boring sport. But when it all comes down to it, its the number 1 code in NSW & QLD. Its a scary thought, that if we were born in/living in one of those states we'd be following that crap!!!!

Lets all go and support soccer as its the biggest international code.

Who cares if no one overseas follow Australian Rules, its Australia's game. Its a game with skill, combined with toughness, not that knock em down crap. I can actually appreciate rugby union because theres actually a bit of skill in it, they throw the ball around. Guys like Campese actually had a bit of skill!!!!!......END OF RANT.......

You're probably on the wrong forum to convince people of your argument "offensive line", but i do appreciate your passion for your sport. And in all honesty, as i've said it really does get down to which state you grow up in. If you grew up in SA, Vic, or WA, and i grew up in QLD or NSW, i'm sure we'd both have opposite views.

In all seriousness, it must be frustrating for you living in a non league state, although i think theyre showing the NRL Footy show on Thursday nights a big earlier over here now. That show is seriously entertaining, league has some great personalities (Matthew Johns, the Chief etc). But in saying that i'd say it would be easier as a league follower in SA (or Vic) today with the internet and foxtel than it would have been 10 or 15 years ago.

With any sports argument with passionate fans, its almost impossible for people to convince the other person of their argument, and the argument can get a touch abusive. Having said that, i hope you can continue to enjoy your favourite code, its great that you're so passionate.

Aussie rules is a difficult sport to understand i agree. Hopefully if you live here for a while you might get to know a few Aussie rules supporters who might be able to explain the rules and point out of the intricacies of the finer points of the sport.
