other teams that have not won a falg for 10+ Years include:

Saints
Myponga
Yankalilla
Mt Compass
Encounter Bay
Victor?

So we are not the only under achievers

If Baxter wins it that will be an impressive effort - 12 years after winning the SFL mail medal.

Answer has to be Saints - 1977. Luvs Footy has got to stop making so many excuses for his club and putting other clubs in the same underachieving bracket as the Saints.

I hear Willunga reserves have the likes of Matty Bennett playing back lines this year, with such a talented player how many others are in that side that would slot into their A grade in a time of need. Shows to me that there is still a long time of Willunga at the top you'd suspect.

Here we go!

Premierships and longest droughts:

Foundation Clubs:
Pt Elliot 1973 (11 Total)
Goolwa 1977 (6 Total)
Enc Bay 1996 (8 Total)
Victor 1999 (24 Total)

Others:
Compass 1980 (1 Total)
Myponga 1984 (1 Total)
Yank 1985 (1 Total)
Strath 2000 (10 Total)
Creek 2002 (3 Total)
McLaren 2003 (1 Total)
Willunga 2007 (7 Total)

That would make Port Elliot with the longest drought

Pretty tough to break the drought when you no longer exist....

Pt Elliot would have the longest drought since winning a game as well by that logic

I wouldn't have picked Pt Elliot as having the 2nd most premierships in the GSFL. Good trivia question!

C'mon Limb get up with your history. relpicas of all the Elliot flags are on display in the Saints footy club. For all the smart arses Mt Compass have had the longest drought 1980 (if you take out the non existent clubs)

What about Saints? They seemed liked they existed when I was at Goolwa last week. Neither Goolwa, Port Elliot or Saints have won a flag since 1980 so you can't offload that mantle to Mt Compass!

I accept the mantle but a couple of posters suggested I couldn't use that logic beacuse the clubs dont exist.

You said that Pt Elliott has the longest premiership drought. Whether you like it or not, Pt Elliott and Goolwa are the same club now, therefore the Saints have the longest premiership drought.

A great example of what is wrong with his football club - living in denial and not looking at dealing with its issues and blaming everyone else.
Look to the future, be positive and stop grizzling on what all the other clubs are doing right and Saints will have a chance.
Get rid of the chip on the shoulder syndrome!
Matty Bennett is a star and is a big a pick-up for Willunga as Ryan. Bennett is even keeping premiership full back Huizink from making the A grade side.

It was interesting that last week against Myponga the Willunga B's included Huizink who was fullback of the year according to the Times and Alex Williamson who played senior association footy the week before.

With the above 2 comments that shows how much depth they do have. Huizink's a gun also can't believe he's playing ressies..... another 2 flags on the way or is there any other side that might be even close to matching them at the moment?
