As it went on is became apparent the latter was the greater contributor. No doubt this is/was an area of weakness, and their grievances were valid. However, there is no question it was resolved poorly. If they felt so strongly about it then why did they participate in the pre-season work that was being done? There are better ways of resolving problems like that. The best way would have been to come to training and tell the committee, and perhaps some of the other senior A grade players the whole story, shake hands and wish each other the best for the next season, and say he'd happily come back if/when he was satisfied his grievances were adequetly resolved if that was the case. Pre-season doesn't normally start so late that Thursday selection happens after drawing straws to pick A grade captain. The overall problem is created by the lack of enthusiasm from anyone to take training and take control. Too much is already done by too few so for mine there has to be more done by others. Yes I am one who needs to do more.

Yes, its obvious I am very good mates with him, but I too have played a lot of cricket for Salisbry West, and have been on the receiving end of many unorganised pre seasons. And here's something you probably weren't aware of which was the icing on the cake.....an outsider rang the club enquiring about coaching, a position the club desparately needed, and nobody could give this person details of who to speak to, nor could they take down any details and have somebody get back to them.....now that is exceptionally poor, and just another contributing factor to those departures. I cant believe how crucified Adam was for leaving.....after everything he's done for that club and how loyal he remained.

He never signed, he worked in the factory where I worked, we had a few discussions and he wanted to play but without the expectations of having to bowl all of the time, he thought his batting could be good enough for PDCA level. He wanted a bit of coin as he lived near the city.
I thought that if he copped a few short ones or made a few low scores he would fire up and have a bowl, in the end, he met up with a girl and I wasn't convinced of how reliable he would be, it simmered out.
He recently quit his job, therefore I don't see him anymore, he's a good bloke who likes a beer, I think that along with the amount of hours he had to work squashed any chances of him playing anywhere, who knows now.
