I think Its Matthew, he's only a young lad, a Tailem local who's still eligible for Under 17's.

Goldberg wrote:Ramblers are the interesting ones! Their team has a good mix of imports & kids who have come up through their juniors. They just dont seem to perhaps get the same quality of imports. Viney & Girardi are vgood, but blokes like Sykes, Koch(no points no cash from Mallee) so he can be forgiven, Zadow, Marchetti, Matchoss & Matthews are good players, but are they worth $$$$.

They have the best local list by far tho

O'neil 1
O'neil 2
Jackson 3
Morris 4
Button 5
Stevens 6
Dougall 7
Weyland 8
Paech 9
Bretag (early juniors I think) 10
Cowland 11
Mundy 12
Hein 13
Pfeiffer 14
Mason 15

A bit of a contrast to the earlier post. All these blokes played Juniors at the club, & I'm guessing wouln't be costing them a great deal, perhaps with the exception of Morris & Button

This is Ramblers local list

RAMBLERS look like the real deal this year after they smashed the bluds, they deserve to be favourates this year .They have done the work .GB i know for a fact that 6 of these locals without button and morris are all high paid players ,is it about how much or about how many ?

Bwhahahahahah, i dont know where your getting your intell from FIL but i can tell you none of these guys are getting $$$, let alone 6 of them, other then petrol money for their trip from town, which is common place. Bwhahahahah!!!!!! Dont make silly statements mate.

On the second part- Its about How many, & yes I know what your thinking. How can you be local if you live in Adelaide? Well here goes!- If you have played juniors for a club & go play at a league team in Adelaide to see if you can cut it at the next level, then decide to come back to that local club, YOUR A LOCAL home grown talent. Unfortunately local employment is not a viable option for some blokes so they must shift to suit their needs outside of football, but if they have the loyalty to travel back to their junior club to continue to play with their mates, then YOUR A LOCAL.

IMO i think clubs should be able to spend what ever they like to attract good footballer to the league, but the number of players should be capped. (Exactly the system in place right now). I truely think we will start to see the benifits of this over the next 3 years as SOME CLUBS will through natural causes lose some of their imports & be unable to replace all of them, thus evening the competition out, from top to bottom.

some interesting results from the weekend of footy. not the winners, but the margins.
looks like ramblers gave the bluds a decent spanking, some might say this is no surprise but still an impressive feat for the chooks
mannum only just got over tailem, who were alleged to have 2 key players out on suspension from the assoc game
and a depleted mypo were only just beaten by a near full strength imps

i watched that game and must say i was impressed by how well mypo played. they choked the run out of imps' game and were fierce in their attack at the footy. i was also told by a supporter that they had up to 8 A grade players out, including 3 of their gun midfielders, CHB, FB and their 2nd full forward! as far as i could work out imps only had their ruckman, roberts, out, and i dont think he would have been able to match pedler for mypo, who dominated the rucks along with eckerman in centre. bailey was held goalless again and without harrowfields 7 goals, imps surely would have easily gotten done. tyson wait also played for imps but allegedly it was only because port had the bye and he will return to town next week.
puckridge went off in the first half with what looked like a knee injury but he did return to play a bit in the second so he wass a fair loss for imps, as he is one of their main play makers.
imps managed to score a couple of lucky ones late in the game and blew the lead out a little but mypo were right in the game and led for a significant portion of the game.
they still have a way to go but it will be very interesting to see mypo at full strength against the top 3 sides.

did anyone else watch any of the other games or have an opinion on this one. i would be interested to hear how the other 2 shaped up.

Wow Float very impressive write up. Yes I too heard Mypo had plenty out, but I heard 9 or 10 NO JOKE!!! Would love them to get all their players on the deck, and challenge the top 3, but apparently wont happen for a while yet!!!! Do you know if Waite has chucked it in at Ports??

Yes interesting round of footy for sure.

I'm not sure if those Tailem guys were actually suspended in the end although i'm only going by what i've read in the results - the 2 guys who were in the squad that didn't play, one was Brad Bell, who was in the best players against Mannum, and the other was Patrick Gabb, who was mentioned in Dalwood preview write up. Still, a good effort by the Eagles.

The Chooks certainly look to be on fire at the moment. Anyone know if Luke Button played, i presume he did (there was some brief mention that he may go back to Sturt), although didn't see his name in best players.

Button played but hurt his ankle (I think), so sat out the whole 2nd half from memory.
