Tips

Compass 40 points (bounce back after a scare from the Saints)
Willunga 100+ (another day, another white wash)
Victor 25 points (How long since Yank have won 2 in a row?)
Strath 20 points (Duffield, Burgess to kick a few)
Creeks 30 points (will be closer than people think, Saints 1-2 at home with average losing margin of 8 points)

Just one quick point. I really think that Yank's MASSIVE upset of Creeks last week desrved the headlines in the Times. I thought the back page of a Saints player taking a mark in a losing side was not as important as one of the biggest upsets in 10 years!!!!!

Compass, Burdett, Maxfield and Bailey to be too strong with Webb and Kahl to have a good battle in ruck.
Willunga, Pongy are always tough at home tho and get up for games against us.
Victor, Yank could win this one, beating the Creeks by just outworking them means they could be on the move.
Strath, Too tall and have great runners. Love and Rankine for the Bays need to have huge games for them to get up.
Creeks, expect them to be very fired up and should do some damage at Goolwa Oval!

my tips
MT Compass - hate mclarens and think compass will smash them 50+ points
Willunga - providing it doesnt rain from today to saturday willunga 50+ points
Victor - this will set the tone if yank win this week, with there new inclusions they could upset a few more of the top teams, still think though last week was a fluke and victor by 15+ points
Bays - there will be fireworks in this game, dont expect either team to back down. I heard a rumour that strath rested most of their players from the association game for this week. Bays by 17+ points,
Creeks - yep will come out firing, goolwa have no hope, creeks by 60+ points

Mate I can tell you know if it was a home and away game that Jon Eagelton would not have played and will be a 50/50 for saturday.

It was good to see old P32 playing for love instead of money on the weekend

While it's good for the young blokes to strut their stuff in association games I'd rather watch the best players that a league has to offer. What is the reason or theory behind the under 25 'plus a few' concept?

Cant beleive that the Times disregarded the massive win by Yank over Crreks and now they have gone and left out the team photo of the victorious U15's. Give the young fellas a bit of glory. Players and parents would have been lining up to see that today!

I think Saints will beat the Creek, who may be walking wounded after the association game. Bays to shock Strath after embarrassing the club with their lack of representation at association, Willunga will beat the Mudlarks, Victor to roll a determined Yank, who look to be without Pratt, Groom and Freeborn, and Compass to fire against McLaren, with Burdett BOG.

Burdett is a gun theres no question about it, his ball getting ability is only rivalled by Eagleton from Strath, hitting the footy at pace and distributing it well is as good as ive seen.

To the Strath guys defence i know that 3 were on holidays, Peglar and Eagleton both had injuries and its not the worst thing in the world to want a week off. Credit goes to Elliot who put his hand up, then got given probably the toughest job on the ground in stopping T Rigney and can hold his head high! Trev may have kicked 6, they werent all on him and Travs influence on the game was quelled enormously compared to what ive seen him do before.

LF getting ur picture in the paper can be a costly exercise!!!!!!

The picture would have cost me $20 but it still would have been nice to see it in there. I know I ask for a lot, but would it have been possible to have the scores in there as well? I realise there were some hard hitting stories about soccer and some kid playing baseball but at least give us a scoreboard.

TC thanks for saying that the Saints will win on the weekend. You talk about injuries that the Creeks have. We also have about 7 injuries so I wouldnt be tipping on this basis.

A memo to all GSFL league clubs. Please take note of how the Saints prevented Burdett from influencing a game. They tagged him. Mark McGuinness is not the greatest player going around (in fact some would not even know him) but when he tagged Burdett from 1/4 time onwards he beat him (kept in to under 10 possessions for 3 quarters). Stick with him, be disclipined. His team mates wont feed it out the back to him if there is someone on his hammer.

Creeks too good for the Saints on Saturday. Worst game of footy I have watched all year! Footner was really impressive for the creek. Now that I have seen every team it is become so much more clearer how far ahead of the pack Willunga are. Speaking of Willunga surely now after another 9 goals, HAMS is the favourite for the mail medal. I know he gets plenty of service but he is on target for 130 goals averaging 7.1 per match. No other single player is dominating their position as he is! Can he break the midfielders trend?

LF Theres no doubt Hams is having a great year, we look forward to Bomber Ryan being fully fit this week and having the pair of them up forward together again and Steve not having an injury like he carried from aboput rd3-4 onwards.

Hams on SAturday may have gotten 1 vote, Steele was brilliant when in the middle, Baxter was everywhere and is an umpires favourite so if those were the 3 to get the votes im tipping 3 to Baxter, 2 to Steele and 1 to Hams. However i agree with you totally hes been by far the standout of the comp so far this year for consistency, i believe his lowest tally in a game is 5 and 9 is his highest, an impressive form guide in anyones book fingers crossed he continues this form!
