Had the misfortune to watch Onkas vs Bridgewater, Raiders tried hard as usual but lack depth with too many 'B' graders trying to play 'A' grade.

Main thing that stood out to me was the unending abuse hurled to all and sundry by the HFL Association coach! As he led the way, the rest of his entourage joined in, yelling obscenities that could be heard all over the place. It's one thing for supporters to scream for blood, but I don't reckon it's a good look for your senior (and Association) coach to be the main offender.

Agree with Confucious, 2 good games at footy at Ironbank. In B's Campbell was the difference between the teams- he always does damage against the devils but also Ironbank had an even contribution across the ground. Story of 2 halves really, thought Lofty should have been much further ahead than the 4 goal lead they had around half time. First half Ironbank didn't go forward as often but converted on almost all of their inside 50's (or 25's at the thunderdome). 2nd half Ironbank controlled the game and deserved the win.

Good hard game of footy in the A's. Credit to Ironbank, they made life very difficult for the devils and used a loose man in defence(big 6'5 players) very effectively. The huge Ironbank players on their small oval was very handy around the contested footy.

Other observations
- wendleborn (no.14)has the best grab in the hills. Very sticky fingers, reminded me a bit of Shannon Goldsmith's aerial dominance.
- brad burch would have to be a big show for the mail medal. I've seen him have 3 clear bog's and is a really tough player, great team man and someone you would just love to play with

Yep it was a great game @ Thunder Park. First quarter slow starts is hurting the thunderers. Was a fantastic contest after that though - good hard footy. I agree that Burch would have to be the mail medal favorite at this stage. Umpires would have to notice him as he is either ferreting in the pack winning the ball or running free. Hard man to stop getting the ball this year as we found. My early pick for Mail Medal 08 - Burch(Mt Lofty), Cooper(Hahndorf), P.Magarey(Blackwood), Staples(Uraidla), Gigney(Blackwood). Hills central looking healthy with 7 Teams fighting for 5 spots and not much between them, BRING IT ON! Hahndorf faded again by the sounds, that must be a thorn in the butt. We are starting like they are finishing of late. Go Thunders - Upwards on Onwards For Buzz Light Year. Chin up to Barny Primodial Wee Man Barnard, hope you pull up ok and get nack on the park soon. Good time for bye hey! 8)

Agree Saint, I think Pucka would be tough to beat.

Cheers mate. Shit result though

I can't believe NC would favour us like that. I've only ever seen him crucify us. It didn't help in the end though!!

Agree Saint. One of the best games of country footy I've seen. Nothing like an old fashioned shoot out. Uraidla made a lot of errors in the first half missing targets with short kicks several times from half back and Hahndorf made them pay on the counter attack. The Magpies led by 27 points at one stage in the 2nd quarter. Bishop threatened to blow the game out but Ebel was able to curtail his influence when shifted onto him. Kempe & Kaesler were excellent for Hahndorf and Stephens tried all day and initiated several counter attacks from Uraidla turnovers from half back. For Uri's Pucka got them back into the game when he was shifted into the centre and guys like Loffler, A.Cox & Brown lifted. Cox in particular was excellent. 8 goals to 2 in the 3rd quarter Uraidla's way and they held a 2 goal lead at 3/4 time. In the last Kaesler single handedly got Hahndorf back in the game in the middle which resulted in Hahndorf holding a ten point lead with about 5 minutes to go but when he was shifted late into the forward lines (probably cos he was exhausted) Uraidla managed to get back into the game and held on by 4 points. Hahndorf were a little unlucky. Probably didn't deserve to lose but neither did Uraidla.

id agree with everybody and say that nev clarke is the worst ump going round at the moment.but i dont reckon he deliberately favoured lofty i think the free kicks may have been going loftys way in the first half cause they were first to the ball. but ironbank changed it all around in the second half. i thought almost all of the decisions that nev clarke paid to either team were horrible. he was giving rapid holding the ball decisions, soft push in the back and holding the man decisions it wasnt the fact he gave these frees it was because he was inconsistent

Agree with the comments about the Hahndorf v Uraidla game. It was one of the best I've seen for a ong while, hell even the umpiring wasn't too bad! Anyone who was there will confirm that Pucka is the best mark in the comp.

Heard the story Saturday night about the association coach and his loud mouth and agree he should be setting some sort of an example. Perhaps he spent too much time in the past sitting with Andrew Jarman!

I would ask why Neville Clarke was even required when there was already another umpire in the Bs. Surely one ump in enough in the Bs on Cherry Gardens oval. Two umps on the bigger grounds with the better Bs sides seems reasonable, but not on our home deck. How many other games featured two umps in the Bs?

Was at Bridgy as live close by (dont follow either teams must say) but i was in middle of coaches boxes and must say it wasnt that bad. He did get fairly loud when a player of his was on the bottom of pack and got cheap shot by a bridgy player! (it was pretty weak from player involved must say) Probly within his rights there as it was pretty ordinary, which Bridgy coach must have thought also as he dragged the player. Association coach or not he wasnt perfect but wasnt as bad as you guys are making out. I was within 10mtrs all day!

Yes been pretty quiet. Absolutely cowardly act. I feel for Scott Purling & Stevie Feijen. Anyone who king hits a bloke 70 metres off the ball and breaks their opponents jaw deserves a lengthy ban.
Does anyone know how many he got? Must be a gag order on the Ironbank lads who use this forum. Haven't heard much from them of late.

Seem to remember some of the Ironbank lads being quite animated and vocal about reporting incidents such as this to the police etc...... Could one or more of you please tell us the real story as to what went on and why it happened ( normally there are two sides to a story )... Who was the player??

Is this where the reported player at the time with a beard and long hair, rocked up at the tribunal with a shaven head and face??

Hope this is what you are after, most at Lobey seem to be struggling with only a few up to the task. B's could nearly beat their A's at this stage.
