Ease up Jimmy, last time I floated around on this forum it was all about Paralowie and the Churches league, it's just good to see some people have a genuine interest in improving the PDCA. I think Basil done a fair job in his inaugural year as President, he was put under pressure nearly every meeting and held up well, I think there is so much potential to make it a great comp.

Heard the idea of a 6 team division comp in the current proposed set up at the end of last year. Sounded like it was quite likely to go ahead actually. I also head it would be 5 20/20 5 one day and 5 two day games. Would be a pity in the sense that we get a couple less 2 day games, but would be better for the older guys around the traps.

If the top 3 grades are going to be all a grade sides then that sounds like a recipe for some lower grade flags for Salisbury West. The B grade kids managed to finish 6th in div 2 and will only get better. The C grade won the div 4 granny and the D grade the grade 6 granny!

However, I do like the idea that A grades only play each other. I think this will make it less worthwhile to not try to have a strong A grade and won't allow the debacle that was Salisbury North A vs Salisbury West C in the div 5 grand final a couple of seasons ago.

I wouldn't go putting my nuts on it just yet, there are a fair few traditionalists that are club delegates that probably wont appreciate change. One of the hardest factors will be that it will come up for discussion and probably a vote at the AGM where a lot of the clubs will know bugger all about it, it is a minority group that has got together thus far, the delegates will probably have to vote before having the opportunity to take it back to the players.

As for your comments on Salisbury West, it's a testament for them to be so successful in so many grades given the divisions they are in, good on em.

It's hard to say whether the C grade would be competitive in grade 3 (under the old system at least). The team from last year's grand final would be, but given the fact that most of the team were past 40 who knows whether all those blokes decide to go around again or not. I think the B grade would make the grade 2 finals next season if they were to keep most of their players from last year (or exchange a couple with the A grade).

I think the argument that the bottom 2 clubs in grade 1 were not even in the ball park last season will make it a very compelling argument. It might not go ahead, but the way the comp is heading, and the problems this new system would solve makes it more than likely to go ahead IMHO.

Has anyone heard of any big signings or movements in the PDCA for the upcoming season?

Who wouldn't be chasing them? Chad had a sorry season with the bat, and being thrown the captaincy at the last minute. Also I understand he's starting to struggle keeping all day. I know there was a certain turf side after John. They might have asked Chad as well. I would be very, very surprised if J Mac left because I believe he isn't interested in moving. Chad perhaps might go elsewhere but I really don't know about what he was intending to do next season.
