The ladder is interesting after this weeks games. Only 1 game between 3rd and 6th, with Mt Compass, Strath, Enc Bay and Victor in a 4 way race for not only the finals, but the second chance as well. Any predictions?

I think its fair to say that the race for third is realistically between Strath and Mt Compass. I think there is a reasonable gap between them and Victor / Enc Bay.

LF.. Depth has been a problem at the Saints for the last 3 or 4 years and I remember you saying at the start of the year that you were getting big numbers out to training. The 2's haven't been going that well so far this season, is this because the numbers dropped off again or is it just because the quality isn't there?

2's are probably in the same position as the A's where they have put themselves in a position to win but cant get over the line. Numbers are there in fact we had 3 new registrations during the week but realistically there is probably only 5 that can step up. Apart from that myself, tom bilney and d.hirst are out That basically leaves 29 to choose from for the A grade. We still need to work on depth. AK played on the weekend and Alex Jones has been in the B's.

depth definatly a problem, was that a miss print with the b's loosing to myponga? That seems very odd considering they pushed the bays B grade at the start of the year myponga and yank would be the two worst teams going around especially in the b grade. Would have expected more from goolwa in the b's

I remember one night AK was talking himself up as a ruckman saying he would be better than most going around in the GSFL, one in particular being the ruckman from last year at EB Jason Baylis!

Myponga B Grade are actually a pretty competitive side esp with the talented old fellas they've got (Magpie Hutchy, Baz Clarke and co). They might not win too many games but they have a dip. I wouldn't put them in the same boat as Yank.

haha good old Ak, yeah hes probably as good as Bayliss but got towled up by Jenkins when the bays played them over there. haha

Interesting post here limb; considering the season to date I would like to think the Bays can knock off Strath, Compass, Victor and the Creeks which will make for a very interesting September. Further more I think you can contest to the fact that sides only have to make the finals, from there any team can win on its day.

Encounter
Compass

I still think that teams like victor, saints and myponga will have say in the make up of the five. The teams in the bottom 5 are capable of an upset on their day.

At the end of the 1st round of matches in a couple of week's time Strath will be one match behind Mt Compass and 2 behind L/Creek. They will have to have a big 2nd half of the year to leap frog both of them. Time will tell though! They will obviously have to beat both of those sides to earn the double chance and they play them both away in the 2nd half of the year after losing to them both at home.

I see what you mean roo. I just had a quick squiz at the program.. tough three weeks coming up for Encounter Bay with Willunga, Strath and L/Creek on the trot.

The next 3 may give them a good indication as to where they sit in the scheme of things. They only lost to Creek by 5 goals and Mt Compass by a goal but considering the favourites to play off in the GF are Willunga and Strath, the next two or three weeks are a big test for any club.

Don't you worry about me; I've got no ties. Why don't you just worry about backing up your posts; its quite a simple concept - if your 'prediction' is correct I pay you a green back but at the end of the minor round when you are wrong you pay me $100.

There would be a few going well at the minute. Maxfield and Bailey are stars at Mt Compass.
Eagleton shines for Strathalbyn and a dark horse J Baggs from Encounter Bay.
