Pretty sure Fidge came from the Mallee to Jervois.

As for raising the Bar, thats great but if Teams Keep getting 3 guys a year whilst retaining last years crop (which is what you want to do as a club) not long before the team has 13 recruits which is simply too many!

I think he did, but i doubt?? he'd be a paid player, he lives in the general area as opposed to someone from town, but still i guess he's still regarded as a recruit.

Ramblers are the interesting ones! Their team has a good mix of imports & kids who have come up through their juniors. They just dont seem to perhaps get the same quality of imports. Viney & Girardi are vgood, but blokes like Sykes, Koch(no points no cash from Mallee) so he can be forgiven, Zadow, Marchetti, Matchoss & Matthews are good players, but are they worth $$$$.

They have the best local list by far tho

If your club can't use those points to their advantage well stiff sh!t, Jervois ain't going to do you any favours.
Maybe you should look & learn from this club Jervois, that has set the benchmark for the past 4 years & probably the next 10yrs.

ahhhhh, you jervois lads really are entertaining to read on this forum.

we really need to recruit some more people to it (the forum that is, not the jervois football club.....) from clubs other than jervois though, not that i have anything against the bluds boys, relax... some differing topics of conversation would be nice for a change

You also need to take into consideration popluations in towns. To compare Jervois to Murray Bridge there's a slight population contrast.
I actually really like the points system they have in some of the other country leagues and think it would work reasonably well in the RMFL. In the Gawler league you are allocated points in relation to where they finish on the ladder like the RMFL but are also allocated a couple extra points if the are in regional, low population areas like Meningie or Mypolonga for example. They also take into consideration how far away the town is to a major city or town. It's generally harder to recruit to places that are further away from major cities and clubs that are out of populated cities will always struggle to compete with those based in populated towns.
If a club like Jervois can retain city based players for 3-4 years then they must be doing something right. It's not always easy to drive and hour and a half to training and games!

this is the case in the RMFL, meningie get an extra couple of points due to their geographical location. as far as i can remember, they are the only team that gets the extra points. i agree with you that the teams outside of the bridge should get additional points also

Ladder at end of minor round, my guess:
IMPS
JERVOIS
RAMBLERS
(thats the definite top 3, but almost impossible to predict the order, Jervois' percentage a little lower so i have them behind Imps)

MENINGIE

Mail Medal favourite: a couple of standouts appear to be Trevor Rigney from Jervois and Henry Hodge from Imps. Still a while to go so yet though.

and i was the Jervois Imps game yesterday and it was a thriller right from the start it would of been good to see Imps at full strenth but thats footy. cant wait till round 19

puckridge went back home port lincoln way to play for his home club on the weekend. apparently he has work back there with his family. am unsure if this is a temporary or permanent move though.
is a big loss for the blues...
