Hey Rodney Fox. Any chance of letting us know how Liam $hrive is going this week on the track and whether he is looking forward to the clash against his old club?

Shrivey has ben in great form as you probably expected and is very excited about this weekend. Of course knowing what he's up against is a big thing for him he has alot of respect for those guys, but with that said he can't wait to get stuck into them. Will be a big learning curve for a few new guys this weekend. You can only get better by playing these better sides and trying to step up so were all keen its Good for the club, cant wait.

No response from Mex or ZC, thought you boys would be all over this story or are you to busy analysing the defeat last weekend.

Stick to cricket Hound... Perhaps your knowledge of this sport is a little better than footy (i doubt it though)... There has been talk on this for sometime and those who post have regurlarly been shot down, so let's just wait and see shall we...

Nice to see that you have awoken from your tequilla slumber Mex.

My knowledge on SFL might be a bit better than you think, a few pages back I mentioned all was not well at Emu Land and next thing one of the players gets cleared to another club and has since Shrived in his new environment.

Speak to the Dutchman about my cricketing ability, if you want to talk cricket meet me on the Adelaide Turf forum, however this is a footy forum so lets keep it at that

I was due to wake up anyway... Only thing dissapointing about being woken up was that it was by you Hound, what a waste... You know nothing about the goings at MV, why did Liam leave...?? Was it because he didn't like the coach..?? Didn't like the players..?? Tell me Oh knowledgable one... Great insightful reporting.. I am quite confident your knowledge on the SFL wouldn't be better than i give you credit for... Now go chase a bone or something, i have Tequilla's to slam...

REYNELLA - 20-30 goals.
ROOS - not to sure about the cockles yet.
FLAGY - to continue on from last week.
NOARLUNGA - 5 goals.
M/VALE - after losing last week, this could be nasty for Aldinga.
COVE - 7 goals.
BRIGHTON - 10 goals.

We lose 1 player and all of a sudden Things are not good in Emu land !!!! Hound, let me tell you things are going along very nicely at the moment.Hilly wont be to worried about losing a player or a game as it takes more than 1 player leaving or 1 game lost to start sending us backwards.Shrivey is a fantastic lad and i have spoken to him personally and the reasons he left were to hang out and play footy with his mates that he grew up with and the fact he lives down there. So maybe head back to the Adelaide Turf forum and stay there till you get your facts right !!!!!
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!

My tips for this week--
Reynella (hope the Hawks can keep it below 30)
Port (too hot for the Roos)
Flaggies over Marion (the closest finish of the day)
Noarlunga just
Angry Morphies (Sharks in the wrong place at the wrong time)
Cove will definitely win again
Brighton by a mile

How about Aldinga's B's sitting third !! And with a very good percentage ! Surely a great sign that the club is progressing well. (I know they still haven't played any of the top contenders yet, but a fantastic spot for them to be after five rounds)

Emus came out firing after the loss last week *shudders*. Loved Scott Pollard's white gloves! Thought the Sharks had a good third quarter though.

aaand... 'Shrivey for captain 2009!' says Lynchie ecstatically.

Might be hard to be captain when you are a mute.

White gloves is that the answer to the Cove loss?

Can anyone shed some light on Brighton's mystifying decision to forfeit the C grade game against the Emus yesterday?

They managed to russle up the required 15 for a game yet still chose to forfeit?
Players had a vote and decided not to play I don't know if the board would be too happy having to fork out a fine for the forfeit when it could have been avoided.

Surely the league has to have a look at this, 2 forfeits in a row and one by choice. Expected more out of Brighton, maybe all is not as it seems "Down the Hill".

Yes it is disappointing ZC. Brighton has alot of inuries to senior list. Several A graders now recovered from injury but being replaced by injuries to lots of B and C grade players. 4 B graders ended in hospital after recent game against Cove. Some of the fringe B graders currently missing out can't play Sundays and run of tough games means lads who are often prepared to back up from B grade and Under 18 just can't do it due to soreness etc. Club is highly embarrassed and addressing.

I see my comments about the stupid SFL draw were borne out this weekend. MV, Rey and BB all had massive wins in the one round. When you look at scores in paper it sticks out terribly.

No qualms with a legitimate reason not to run out but as stated they had enough numbers and CHOSE not to play. Just seemed a bit weak to not even make an effort. Were the club officials informed about it or will the players be paying the fine incurred due to the forfeit?

They would have got smashed by these sides whenever they played. I still say its better to cop the beltings now, than during the very early rounds. Better to develop false hope than immediate destruction of confidence.
Aldinga actually won the first quarter against the Emus. That wouldn't have happened in a Round Two encounter before the Sharks had been given time to prove to themselves they could beat more than Hackham.

I agree with what you are saying BTP but dingys didnt win the first quarter. I think it was 8 goal to 1. you mite be meaning the third quarter when at the start of the 3rd they were 2 goals to morphies 1 goal. but morphies definatley outscored them every quarter.
but agree with the theory behind your post.
Beat the whites of eggs with a pinch of salt until stiff...Continue beating, gradually adding sugar, vinegar and vanilla, until of thick consistency.

Yeah Morphies smashed us every quarter.
Disappointing thing is we still played some much better footy but they were just incredible on the day. All credit to them I think if they went out and played anyone even Cove like that they would have gotten the job done.
