Good to see the 9ft kid from two wells get a run.

It's alright, I'm sure you'll be watching Virginia-less finals footy from the sidelines enjoying your Pickanic Basket.

Heard United have been struggling to get numbers at trainings. Michael Trussell was named in the A's for the weekend clash against Hamley which I'm sure will put a few noses out of joint. He's been training well, but I reckon he's only been promoted because of his reputation. Too old and slow IMHO.

Yep I heard this too but your being a bit harsh there D-Bear. Truss may be a bit old, a bit slow, a little overweight and thinning on top but his football smarts are second to none. He also has one of the cleanest sets of hands I've seen on a footy field. It will be great to see Truss streaming off the half back line again, its like poetry in motion.

Agreed, howie is a huge in for the tigers. he's in great form on the track and is all set to make his comeback from his 7th retirement. heard he was inspired during the week by Warnie coming out in the media and putting his hand up to take on the poms next year.
Only question marks are if he will be down on confidence after missing out on your association team managerial duties.

If there's one thing Truss doesn't lack, it's confidence Bobby. He backs himself 10 times out of 10.

Totally agree with you guys there. Was a surprise selection but so far this year the tiges selectors have got it right. Picking J-Rod first game was inspiring and he would still be the clear medal favourite. I cant see where they have gone wrong with picking Trussell, brings a lot to the side with his footy smarts, voice, one-percenters and leadership qualities. I think Hamley will need to play a half forward in a tagging role if they are to get close tomorrow.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

I still reckon he's too slow. Truss might have footy smarts, but I heard he struggles to open his own stubbies. He just doesn't get that you have to twist anti-clockwise (or to the left).

Do Guys think this squad will be good enough to knock off the NEFL, NAFA and the YPFL? in this carnival at balak?

Shaun Light should replace Lowey's spot in the Rucking spot, But losses like Harvey and Hollitt (who will probably wearing a different Shirt) are difficult to fill.

At least we can rely on a strong and proud feeling of tradition as the guys that pull on the Red, White and Black in the past have all wanted to and thrive on representing this league.

Pretty sure Assoc training starts next week. I dont think the squad is as strong as it has been in previous years. The quality squad (Assoc Standard) drops away fairly quickly so hopefully not too many of the likes of Walks, Light, Earl, Wilson's, Catford, J montgomerie, Searle, Pym or Allmond have injuries or work committments or we may well struggle.
