Breaking WWE News

Postby JK » Mon Nov 14, 2005 3:07 pm

Meant to post this this morning ... Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for anyone who follows this sport/entertainment ...

We are very sad to report that one of the greatest pro wrestlers of the modern era Eddie Guerrero passed away this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. He was just 38-years-old. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and daughters Kaylie Marie, Shaul and Sherilyn. Authorities have not yet released any information on his death. We hope to have more later today.

While Eddie will be sorely missed, he will not be forgotten. Our deepest condolence to the entire Guerrero family for their loss.

Cheers CP...I've informed the Snout WWE fans.

Just so I know, what was Eddie's stage name?
Is 2009 the year of the Tiger?

TB, he was mainly known just as Eddie Guerrero but also was called Latino Heat for a while.
He was a big partier up to about 4 years ago when he got off the drugs and alcohol.
I hope all the kiddies out there have learnt the lesson taught here.
Don't get off drugs and alcohol!

(LOL @ Wedgie)

A further report from Mike Aldren .. (You can subscribe to his newsletter @ mailto:W365-subscribe@topica.com )

It all seems like a bad nightmare but I am sure everyone will know by now it's not. WWE superstar Eddie Guerrero, 38, passed away this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. He had a lot to live for and he died far too early. My condolences go out to all his family and friends, but especially to his wife Vickie and their three young children.

Eddie's body is scheduled to be returned to his home in Phoenix, AR, by private jet tomorrow following an autopsy in Minneapolis. Funeral arrangements are set for Wednesday in Scottsdale. Eddie had just moved his family to Phoenix from central Florida. Phoenix resident and WWE legend Superstar Billy Graham has been asked by the family to conduct the service at his church.

The WWE hosted a press conference this afternoon at Target Center with Eddie's nephew Chavo and Vince McMahon. Chavo said that Eddie didn't respond to a wake-up call shortly after 7am so he and security at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center forced their way into his room and found him laying on the bathroom floor. Chavo said he performed CPR but couldn't revive him. There were no apparent signs of foul play.

Vince McMahon talked about what a loss the death of Eddie is to his family, the WWE locker room, and to all his fans around the world. He called him a wonderful fun-loving human being and a consummate performer that few could excel to. He said that Raw and Smackdown this coming week will be tribute shows for Eddie and that everyone in the company has the option of whether to work or not. He also noted that Eddie's family will continue to receive WWE royalties forever.

Chavo said that Eddie would have wanted the show to go on tonight so everyone else could feed their families. He said that just the other day Eddie told him that he was celebrating four years of sobriety following his previous battles with well documented demons.

Bayman, Dino Bravo was actually shot and killed, but ur on the money with the others ... One of life's quirks I guess that allegedly the hardest substance abuser within the industry is still around today, in Jake Roberts!!

Another to pass too early was Yokozuna, and of course The Junkyard Dog and Owen Hart although obviously their deaths weren't health related ...

Further info ...

Eddie's wife Vickie was told the preliminary autopsy findings this
morning. He suffered a massive heart attack. The examiner found signs of
heart disease believed to be the result of Eddie's past problems with
alcohol and drug abuse. His blood vessels were very worn and narrow and
he had an enlarged heart. Vickie told WWE.com that Eddie had been
feeling unwell during the past week but had attributed it to fatigue.
Toxicology won't be in for several weeks although it should be noted
that Eddie celebrated 4 years of sobriety last Thursday. Enlarged or
weakened hearts appear to be a recurring theme in the wrestling
business. Similar ailments also cut short the lives of Eddie Gilbert
(33), Brian Pillman (34), Davey Boy Smith (The British Bulldog, 39),
Rodney Anoai (Yokozuna, 34), Ray Traylor (The Big Bossman, 42), Rick
Roode (40), Terry Gordy (40), Michael Hegstrand (Road Warrior Hawk, 46),
Ray Fernandez (47), Ted Petty (Rocko Rock, 48 ), Gary Albright (36), and
the list goes on and on.

i stand corrected about dino bravo i knew he had died i didn't know he was shot i knew yokozuna had died but i thought possibly because of his weight problem & what goes with being that big, personally i'll watch but i wouldn't do what they do trying to look big & muscular & using help along the way i'd rather be poor at 70 than a multi & dead at 40 i dont think its worth it do you ? but i will keep watching

Eduardo Gory Guerrero was his name, can any one please give me the run down on wot happened to Miss Elizabeth - Poffo?
I twas a huge fan of the WWF in the 80's but my enthusiasm started to dwindle in the early 90's when the Hulkster sold himself out with the NWO.
I remember going to the Apollo Stadium to see the WWF twice in the mid 80's and even saw Andrew The Giant wrestle. My mate got bashed by Tiger Chung-Lee with his bungee stick for calling him a fat gook......golly gosh....those were the days. Even saw The J.Y.D wrestle too.
Hulkamania IS ALIVE AND WELL, EVEN THO THE HULKSTER ISNT...........I've been sayin my prayers and eatin my vitamins cos the hulkster says so.....you take it from me, Mr T.
Too fast to live, too young to die.
