I would like to know Victor's injury situation. On the weekend I noticed that Jamie Brown, Parry and Reeves all hobbled off at some stage. I wonder how serious these blokes are?

Exactly ZC. And if the leagues are SOoo united in not splitting the Southern Districts zone up its about time they reinstated what the PLAYERS want and brought the Lovelock Shield!!! WE all want the honour of playing with the best players in our comp, against the best players from the other comps. The challenge of playing the best standard of Country Footy you can is a big enough incentive to get out there and play!

Yank Vs Strath - Strath will be way to strong for Yank unless its pissing down with rain as going by last weekends results Strath are a summer team, maybe they should play cricket. Strath by over 50 points

Langhorne Creek Vs Compass - i think this tainted as game of the round but will suprise everyone and say that creek will beat compass by atleast 5 goals.

Encounter Bay Vs McClaren - Bays by 5+ goals, youngsters and fowards have hit form coming off last two weeks of very good footy

Willunga Vs Victor - Willunga by 50+ points, unfortunatly i would like to see victor win and upset willunga but the fact is that i think Willunga will just be to good. Willunga have to many big man for victor to control

Saints Vs Myponga - myponga by 20+ points, would like saints to win but think princi's boys will get over the line here (not really sure why though)

My tips are...
Strath by 10+ goals
Creek by 5 goals
Encounter by 10 goals
Willunga by 15 goals
Saints by 2 goals

Just wondering what the go is with Burdett from Compass. What is his situation at the moment? He was playing league with south until they had the buy and i see ha played with compass that weekend and didnt return to south on the weekend? Is he stasying with compass or injured? I believe he was contributing well in the league team most weeks. It would be dissapointing to see another player go back to country footy midway through the season as Portlock did last year after proving themselves at that level!!!

Reading the Advertiser last week South had him out due to work committments, so we will have to wait and see if he gets put back in the squad this week, my guess is he will.

Burdett will be taking the ground for Compass this week
He is over in China on work commitments as of last week and is not due back into Adelaide untill Friday night so he has been un able to train all week, this will see him return to Compass to face the Creek. After this week only he knows if he will return to his league duties, i guess we will have to wait and see!

Congratulations Micky on a wonderful 100th post.
Question what do umpires do at training? is it game orientated training drills or just a few laps?how do they better them selfs with there decision making? do they take there game as seriously as the players? or perhaps there only in it for the fat chicks..
...if any1 knows please post as im sure players wanting to become umpires need to know, surly cant be that hard.

Micky i have been unfortunate enough to watch the SANFL umpires train, they have half the umpires do a normal footy drill (like what club woulds do on a tues or thurs) and an umpire follows the ball around and pays marks, pretends he got pushed in the back, there was high contact etc. They practice blowing their whistles and the arm signals! The boundary umpires just run and the goal umpires practice by having someone kick goals.

Not exactly Panther but i do look forward to midfield duels that await us. I dont know alot about Victor but Saunders, Hodge, Brown, Jurek and Mckinlay is a very strong on ball brigade.

The deal with Burdett is he was back to have a game as he is away for the 2 weekends following South Adelaides bye. He played for Compass so he got a run in the legs and didnt miss 3 weeks of footy. However with the way Jacks using the bench and playing not only Marcus but a few rotations straight on and off the bench some players are unhappy with the lack of time in the game ie 5-10 mins on the ball, rest on the bench, then go again for another 5-10.

Heard a rumour on the weekend that Burgess from Strath has suddenly gone from zero points to three in seven days. I know he played twos on the weekend, but what about other weeks? Amazing! It has only taken till round six to occur. Has there been any penalties applied? Also can someone confirm if Ellis was three points on the weekend? Bring back the salary cap!!!! Seriously, can the Saints make the finals from here? So much was promised at the start of the season, and their footy has been improving, but they just can't get the points on the board.

Talked about this a little earlier TC, I got a list of what all players are worth. Ellis and Burgess are now listed as 3 pointers (Burgess in the first 3 rounds was declared a 1 pointer). As for the Saints making the finals it now becomes very tough. To make the five you need to beat all the other teams in line for that 5th spot and we have already gone down to Bays, McLaren and VH. We are not satisfied with the position we are in but we are starting to play a better brand of footy.

It will be tough for any of the bottom 4 sides to make the finals as they are behind by 2 games and a lot of %. If the Saints can start winnin there close games anything could happen but its an uphill battle from here.

LF how r u and Mark goin with the 3,043 kids at under 15s? Managed to cull the squad a little?

I was a bit disappointed I had a training session worked out for 83 and only 45 turned up. Some very talented kids out there cant wait til game day. And for those who think that one day Willunga will be beatable, then think again. Some of there juniors are already over 6 foot!
