MT BARKER v hahndorf: going for a bit of an upset here hahndorf have only really played one top 3 side this year (Blackwood) and havent been tested by the other teams where as barker have played two potential top 3 sides in Uraidla and Blackwood and did well against both. I did hear a sneaky rumour that lackers did his knee last night at training tho can anyone confrim this?
I reckon Mt barker by 2 goals

Bookie, lackers trained for half the night, still struggling from a hammie that he did in the first round, should be back for next week in the b's.

yeah just as i thought that farrel is a fair player plays chf and withthe outs we had had no one who could go with him on the day the bloke has a big engine not looking forward to matching him up when we play them at there sh!t heap later in the year !by the way where is da at the moment hasnt been on here for a while ?

Uraidla 20.12 Ironbank 11.12

Ironbank no Smith or Muffy. Game was over at half time 12 goals to 2.

Ironbank were the softest side I've seen this year. Too many players going the man rather than the ball. No Thunderers wanted to get the hardball. Too many soft players shit scared to go for the ball.

#33 Donald & #69 Morris spent too much time going the biff. Both were too scared to go for the hardball. Wendelborn & Naughton dominated for Ironbank apart from that they had nothing.

Ironbank were terribly coached. Graetz who has killed Uris before was played out of position. Manno who is apparently on a bucket load a game was absolutely destroyed by D.Cox. Would hav had 3 possesions.

Looks like a long year for Ironbank.

Yeah no smith muffy walter or billings. but can't say uris were at full strength either with alot of players out

Its a bit of a worry with these teams only having 12-13 players. I think the teams who were originally in the C grade like Lofty IB Blacky were confident of getting a team together week in week out even with injuries in higher grades etc. Whereas these other teams which joined late maybe didnt quite realise how may players they would have. Maybe a couple of amalgamated teams would have been better because C grade is all about giving everyone a game and its bit hard to have a fair go when u got 8 on a bench.

Still a great idea. Love being able to get out and support the guys who come and support you every Saturday!
Good to see some close games also. Friday nite i think at blacky this week? not sure.. neone know the games on?

Interesting to see Barker beat hahndorf with ease... well assuming this due to scoring shots. Anyone at the game? Seems Cooper can't do it on his own... has had 4 or so Bests for hahndorf?? Early Mail Medal Fave id say..

Silky, Howman has played half a game all yr, guess thats what happens recruiting 30odd year olds, but no excuses! Murphy was out for the roos too, so it evens itself up! Injuries part of the game, as you should no! Well done to the roos, done it with the local boys, and really are playing good footy!

May have been a little mis-management in lack of numbers rather than not enough players available!!

The Hahn/Mt Barker game WAS tight to the end - until THAT mark - Pfitzy!!!
Injuries to Stevens (early 1st Q) and then Cooper when the game was there to be won were telling. Hahndorf certainly didnt play well - good luck to the Roos though.

Mt Barker will upset more of the top sides this year, they may not have the big names that
some of the other sides have but they have a very good coach who will get the absolute best out of the guy's he has.

C Grade
Friday 23/5 Blackwood

6.30 Blackwood v Ironbank
7.45 Bridgy v Uraidla

Sunday 25/5 Hahndorf

12.20 Hahndorf v Onkas
2.00 Nairne v Lofty
3.30 Barker v Kersbrook

I agree Mt Barker are playing good team footy at the moment and are getting the most out of the 21 they field each week. There game plan works very well and they are well drilled, even on the small IB oval.

Uraidla had 19 players and Nairne had 17. Most impressive part of the game was watching the young blokes doing really well. Uraidla have 3 or 4 missing out in 17s each week who come out for a game of C's, there the smaller and younger kids but they do really. The older blokes are good competition and generally dont takle them too hard (prehaps because most cant keep up). The second game at Uri Oval was Kersbrook v Bridgey (wearing old sturt uniforms) and that was really confusing, colours were practically the same, maybe the HFL guernseys should be pulled out next time these two meet.

I agree kitm IB has lots of U17s not getting a game and the experience should help. But as Mopup said I hope the new teams have worked out they need full teams in mid season the youngsters need a game. This is not C Grade of the early 90's!
It is about developing a club atmosphere and despite hostile reactions from uninformed small minded individuals this can lead to an expansion of AFL in the Hills.

The numbers of really young kids in AUSKICK is huge in some areas, and are things each club needs to work on.

Also I do not read on the feedback on this forum this year about reports of bad umpiring (apart from me) we would have had a lot in the past.

I think we have been fortunate with M. Taylor taking up the HFL cause!
