Empire Strikes Back
Die Hard
Mississipi Burning
Terminator
Once Upon a Time in America
National Lampoon's Vacation
Beverley Hills Cop
Blade Runner
A Fish Called Wanda
Flying High
Major League
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Aliens
Gallipoli
When Harry Met Sally (may have just snuck into the 80s?)
Wall Street
Romancing the Stone
NeverEnding Story
Escape from New York
Breakfast Club
Mad Max 2
Lethal Weapon

Probably more I can't think of right now ...

Glad someone knows this "classic" film....watched it so many times and have it on DVD. Remember playing the soundtrack over and over. A band called "Fastway" did it.

Skip from Family Ties was the main character plus cameos from Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne...

Think I runied a few records by spinning them backwards after watching it as a 12 year old!!

Oh, the legend of SAMMI KERR.........
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

A few mentioned already but I don't think Porky's has been mentioned.

Flying High
Top Secret are two of my faves along with the Porky's trilogy

yep, cant go past the back to the future trilogy. John Cusacks early stuff like Better off dead and hot pursuit were good value. And for the horror buff, The Hellraiser movies were up there.

Just on the quotes angle, I reckon the movie with the greatest number of great quotes would have to be Commando...

"Let off some steam Bennett"

"Remember Sully when I promised to kill you last?"...
..."That's right Matrix, you did"...
"I lied"

"What happened to Sully?"...
..."I let him go".

"Don't disturb my friend. He's dead tired"...

I'm sure there's a heap more...
"They do say, Mrs M, that verbal insults hurt more than physical pain. They are, of course, wrong, as you will soon discover when I stick this toasting fork into your head"

Reakon the 80s has always suffered simply because it immediately followed THE greatest decade of films.

The 70s is the true 'Golden Age' of cinema.

Never to be seen again...

My favourite movie quotes are from Bull Durham

Annie: So what do you believe in then?
Crash: Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.

Crash: Yeah, I was in the show. I was in the show for 21 days once - the 21 greatest days of my life. You know, you never handle your luggage in the show, somebody else carries your bags. It was great. You hit white balls for batting practice, the ballparks are like cathedrals, the hotels all have room service, and the women all have long legs and brains.

Another movie from this era that I have always liked and I just saw again is "Less than Zero" with Robert Downey Jnr and Andrew McCarthy.

Also loved the Revenge of the Nerds and Porky's series of movies.
