Have not heard any "official" talk, but would not surprise me! Been a bit of tension for a few weeks now.... A small issue regarding the availability of U18's for senior selection.... Hackham re-introduced U18's this season and have not had a very strong showing on the track.... Some are questioning the move.... Forfeited one game already due to low numbers....

Been a few heated discussions.... A failure to resolve this issue will result in massive problems (aka People leaving!)

Let's just say that Calamari is better when it is cooked quickly, not slowly roasted over a period of a month!

Sorry Hawk im not following (especially the bit about the calamari) this issue, so who are the parties threatening to leave Hackham? Is it the under 18 coaches/players, senior players, or the senior coaches ie the Kelly gang who are threatening to take off?

Perhaps i can help here CT... Dress a Squid up in "Super" tight footy shorts and you will find your answer...

Great line about the calamari. I heard all this about this guy in the pre season I cant believe it's still going on think it could just be sour grapes. He is a good bloke and indeed loves his footy it would be hard for him no doubt. Time will tell on that one I guess.

Hills I dont think it was such a bad post about if they want to leave let them, what BTP is trying to say I guess is you cant let these people drag you down. You have to make some hard decisions to succeed and Hackham have improved and dont need any negative crap from anyone at their club.

Also I can't wait to upset you guys on the weekend

Hes been playing in the 18s for the last couple of weeks with some of his mates his own age.
I think he has realised what he mite be missing out on in the seniors and is due to return soon.
Will be good to have him back. he is a great young player that not only wins tapes and takes grabs around the ground but gets in and under with the best of them for a guy his size.
Beat the whites of eggs with a pinch of salt until stiff...Continue beating, gradually adding sugar, vinegar and vanilla, until of thick consistency.

Will be some changes this week Jono, hard to say who and how many as quite a few receiving treatment and having a light night last night. The club always looks forward to playing you guys as what your club has accomplished in comparison to the other "division 2" sides is admirable, i would expect another cracking game and am thinking it will be quite close. The midfield will be the best match ups of them all as both teams have numerous options that they may go with, depending on the state of the game, will be a game for the small men i feel... Unfortunately it looks like we won't be blessed with the great weather that we've had of late, hail and 30-50mm rain has been forecast on the west coast late friday so should be hitting Emu Park around 2.20pm...

Yeah agreed Mex, Midfield will be important with both sides having guys capable of kicking multiple goals in the wet or dry i.e Pollard, Pitman, Ramsey, Reavill etc
Vick and Bayly important for both sides then Gill and Short in the ruck also pivotal.
Should be a great game but agreed on the weather..... looks shite

Interesting post from the Mex about Morphett's respect for Cove, and the way they have made "Division One" work. It shows it CAN WORK. Happy Valley proved it when they were put up back in the eighties, and look what they became !!
This is all good news for the Sharks and Hawks. "Div Two" doesn't exist any more, but from where they are right now they only have to look to the Cobras and the Vikings for inspiration.
If you want it, you can make it happen.

Footy is alot different now compared back to then. Alot more money involved now and society has also evolved. Maybe similar stategies to what Valleys adopted, but lets not forget that at the times of both Coves and Valleys 'revolution' if you will was thet they were in a massive housing growth within their playing zone, so reaped the benefits that way. Hackhams problems stem back to 10-12 years ago where they were as strong as any other club in the SFL through out all grades. But when juniors leave presentations seeing senior footballers at the club smoking dope in the car park as a parent you would not want your kid playing amoungst that. It did happen as I saw it 1st hand when I played there as a junior. Also when I applied for a clearence after being fully financial for 4 years and leaving during the off season my clearence was first denied (Keep in mind I was 16) because I played seniors that year and their initial comment was you play here or not at all, classy hey......... But still I hope they pull through, as the people that are there now are fantastic now and were the best back 8 years ago aswell......

I'd say that Aldinga is going through a similar housing boom so I think they will show continued improvement.

Yeah we are ZC but a big difference in our area is that we don't have a high school. That makes a massive difference when the closest one is Willunga and they are a strong reputable club. We are trying to target the new areas with flyers and what not but its a hard task. We did pull a few off of the street new to the club that are very handy but definately still need alot more to show our continued improvement.
Massive weekend for all clubs it seems Interesting to see some peoples tips?

Porties over Hackham 10 - 15 goals
Flagstaff over M/Ville close under 3 goals
Marion just over Noarlunga could go anyway
Lonsdale over Sharks after the strong showing against Morphett Vale
Brighton in a tight one over Valley
Morphett Vale by 3 - 4 goals over Cove. Cove looking good but never seem to get past Morphett Vale.
