Never thought i'd say this but I agree with newman. PAOC have no respect for anybody. And I hope their fans choked on their cucumber sandwiches.

on the topic of the head count in the paoc vs portland b grade game last sat, i was of the belief that after a head count, one of the teams was to lose their score; either the team that has too many players on the field, or the team that called it. correct me if i'm worng. i do know that neither side lost their score.

was a cracker game in the a grade, with the lead changing throughout the game. portlands defence very disciplined and their midfield was harder at the ball than us. they repeatedly got numbers into defence and had players at the fall of the ball. our inability to close the game cost us dearly (obviously, coz we lost the game), but that can be expected when so many of the players have played in losing sides for most of the past 3 seasons. hopefully we learn from our mistakes and dont let it happen again. full credit to portland, deserved winners, even if their celebrations were a bit over the top. they are better than their ladder position suggests, wouldnt quite have them premiership favourites yet though. wait until after round nine before we start announcing 2008 premiers. not many flags are won in may!

Gee you PAC people would have to be the worse losers in the league. Sounds to me you are dazed and confused and the princesses got a little bit ahead of themselves with talk of an undefeated season and premiers. God forbid you lost a game and to a team from the port which you hold no respect for and never have. Why wouldnt the boys from the port celebrate after beating an up them self undefeated side like PAC on their own oval. Dry youur eyes princesses and be aware that this season is still wide open and you havent got your hands on the trophy yet. And as for the father running on the field well I believe that speaks for itself!!!

I accept the fact that we may be bad losers, but i think thats because we just arent use to it unlike yourselves and the other clubs in port adelaide. Unlike you guys though we are good winners because thats what we are use to.

Like i already said, i am sceptical of Sandman, but play on anyway...

On the head count issue, you only lose your score if you have too many on the field. If you call a head count, and erveyone has the correct number on the field, then a free kick is awarded against you in front of goal - exactly what happened. I can tell you that PAOC's coaching staff were sh!tting themselves when the head count was called - they thought they had too many men on the field. We only called the head count because a PAOC player came running off the bench to get involved in a scuffle - what we didnt know (and PAOC didnt know at first either) was that PAOC only had 17 men on the field at that stage anyway. It added a bit of spice to the game anyway, as did the father of #5 running on the ground to protect his son getting 'beaten up' by the 18 year old Portland player he decided to swing one at. Wrong move, the young Portland bloke is a champion boxer !!!

On the over-the-top celebrations, i admit in hindsight they may have seemed that way. There was a fair bit of emotion released after the final siren, we have been pipped at the post in the first 2 games of the season and have been under the pump to perform. There was very much a sense of relief to win a close one, especially when the lead changed a couple of times late in the last quarter. There was also a sense of achievement after beating what we consider very good opposition, at home. I dont think our reaction after the game would have rubbed you blokes up the wrong way, in fact it probably should be taken as a compliment. The game was played in excellent spirits i thought by the way.

Pffft champion boxer? whats his name, i very much doubt that. I think you should see some of our players hit the bag. They may not be "champion boxers" but they can throw a punch. Everyones a champion boxer these days.

Sand man (silly man) Not sure how aware you are of the fact, however you are relegated to a lower division if you finish in the bottom 2. Now, to finish in the bottom 2, it normally means the side has suffered several losses throughout the season. So too say you're used to being winners is a "silly billy" thing to say. Whoops on your behalf! You do sound very indulged and college prepared! As for your boys hitting bags hard, we at the Port mean punching bags, not paper bags from david jones undies section.

wow this division is a very close one after portland winning on the weekend. paoc had been fairly quiet up untill now. what happened in the B grade game for a father to run on the oval, surely the guy should be fined or something.

Seeing as your team is "Port Adelaide" seems a bit odd that your sh*t canning them and the area!
And with the facilities that these clubs (pt adelaide area) have seems a bit rich coming from guys playing out of a toilet block in adelaide city council!
i reckon you guys would be getting changed out of a cell with the bars on your windows.
Some like to say Arrogant, I like to say confident.

A perfect example of a previous post from BUCKETTS, if that was a father from a district club ie(especially Nth Haven) the SAAFL surely would of handed down a fine if not stripped the club of the 2 points and the club would be a on a tightrope for the rest of the year. Bullshit you say, tell me out there if any teams coach has been suspended for 12 games for playing an unregistered player with the coach in question having no prior record with the saafl?

Im sure it would have been a different story if it was a portland dad running onto the ground
the match official seen it aswell
obviously he didnt think he needed to report it by the look of things
we will just see if a similar thing happens this season and what the outcome is!!
that will prove if buckets is right or not!!!

I agree with Sand man. You port boys win one game and then all gang up and try and get every little bit of mileage you can from it.

I'd run onto the ground too after some of the violence which has been reported from the clubs in the port area. It's only so long before someone gets seriously hurt by a "champion" boxer.

Learn how to win gracefully and you'll get more respect. Arrogance worked for Pt Magpies because they won premierships, not because they were an also ran div 4 club.
