from the SAAFL website about Trinity OS...

The Club was founded in 1917 and played scratch matches in its first year of existence. After three years in the City and Suburban Association, it became a founding member of the West Torrens District Association in 1921, and inadvertently was responsible for the Association's demise at the end of the 1926 season. Between 1921 and 1926 the Club won the premiership four times and was runners-up twice, and along with Croydon Union dominated the competition to such an extent that other clubs drifted away. Underdale applied to join the SAAFL in 1927 but had to wait until 1928 when an A2 division was formed. Club captain Mick Spain, a 5'6" goalsneak, played for 16 seasons and topped the A1 goalkicking in 1932. Another captain Alf 'Pug' Rule was hot favourite for the 1920 state amateur lightweight boxing title but was disqualified on the grounds that he fought "for a few bob" in 'Dingy' Rowe's tin shed on the Port Road at Hindmarsh. The Club was a real force in the SAAFL winning the A1 flag twice and playing in 7 A1 Grand Finals in 8 seasons, so it must have been a real surprise when it did not reform after the War. Nevertheless, the team spirit among the players was so strong that regular reunions of past players were held right up until 1970.

CLG, Heccies, Hope Valley and WOS are all paying players. At least the Hope Valley posters have some integrity to not play us for fools with a denial card. Winners are grinning at the moment (and rightly so, payments or not), but in the last game of the year there can only be one who takes the cake... and whose money has been well spent.

CLG must save money by pinching other club's match balls. I believe one of your footy's now has HVFC written on it? scottroo, can you have a look for it. We'd love to have it back....

...also, well done to Houghton and Hectorville's coaches and some of their players for coming back to the club for a beer after the game (even after losing). CLG should look to these 2 clubs on how to go about it.
