junior hood was third best so dont know you heard from. both were tagged heavily. matt hood had number 11 from the roys scragging him all day but got away in the second half. and junior hood kicked a good goal in the last qtr when the game was up for grabs.bucketts wrote:Hoodlum wrote:Haven V Fitzroy, good close game! The roys play there sh#t hole quite well. and when I say sh*t hole I truely mean Sh*t hole! And ya rekon they don't have a few gooses in their side, many with ambitions and capabilities all mixed up! Pricey, Watts played top games. Dempsey absolute standout! Best player in Div 4 by the length of the ground. Away from home I don't think the mighty Roys will trouble too many sides
i'm hearing the hood boys were a bit ordinary ( care to speak about their game )

I think you are talking about Crispe, he was Unley's B grade coach last year - dont think he is playing this year. I actually thought he was their hardest player last year, sure he may have ruffled a few feathers, but he also was willing to put his head over the pill. Not a bad bloke either.

roys were lucky to stay that close although. they had a very good day with the umps. their was a decision right on three qtr time when the ump gave haven a free right on the goal line but the roys player said he was holding me to so he decided to ball it up and there was a good fair bump on chad burke in the last qtr. he even told me it was fair that resulted in a goal.
haven had one on the bench for the last qtr with young tyson devries not taking the field after half time and the knee injury to lippo.
why didnt fitzroy man up daniel price (21) got about 35 kicks on the outside wing, and set up crucial goals.
but in the last qtr it came down to haven wanting the ball more. and not playing the man like the roys.

anyway the AFL has changed their rules.... free kick and 50m for an extra player now - wonder if the SAAFL will follow suit.

on the topic of the head count in the paoc vs portland b grade game last sat, i was of the belief that after a head count, one of the teams was to lose their score; either the team that has too many players on the field, or the team that called it. correct me if i'm worng. i do know that neither side lost their score.
was a cracker game in the a grade, with the lead changing throughout the game. portlands defence very disciplined and their midfield was harder at the ball than us. they repeatedly got numbers into defence and had players at the fall of the ball. our inability to close the game cost us dearly (obviously, coz we lost the game), but that can be expected when so many of the players have played in losing sides for most of the past 3 seasons. hopefully we learn from our mistakes and dont let it happen again. full credit to portland, deserved winners, even if their celebrations were a bit over the top. they are better than their ladder position suggests, wouldnt quite have them premiership favourites yet though. wait until after round nine before we start announcing 2008 premiers. not many flags are won in may!
