Mallees won by about 8-9 goals. Pretty even at half time, and then MP crackd the game open in the third. From all reports was a pretty even contest except for the third quarter.
Rangers prevailed over a fast finishing rooster outfit. Led by 5 at three quarter I heard, and only just held on.
Demons outlasted a gallant and hard working young eagles outfit. Easty plucked a couple of contenders for MOTY. Abel was pretty good in his last game.

Will Abel still be around to stand Primey in the assoc game as he would be one of the very few who is big enough and strong enough to successfully play on him. No Brooks. Who else could. Is Abel in the squad ?
BTW who have we got in the squad

Cracker of a game against Tasmans Sat night. Not without it's little incidents and very exciting for both sides I would have thought with the result up in the air right thru to the bell and both sides having a good go at it. A very relievd MR outfit I would have thought and with that result now in the book we may well get through the 1st round 3 & 2 which would be pleasing

Going by what i have seen this year and what i experienced last year with Primey i would probably play Paul Theodosiou or Ricky Myers on him. I played on Primey for ten minutes last year and got towelled up insanely, not sure on his fitness this year but when i stood him, he wasn't just strong and a good grab, he was frigging quick off the mark and mobile too which was where i thought i would have half a chance. Even if Abel was in the squad i reckon Primey would be a bit too quick off the mark. Keeping him quiet will be a big challenge especially with the quality of disposal that gets fed his way.
CMH, where are Marsh and Arbon from? They must be reasonably handy?

Kelshy has apparently injured his knee somehow? He came off on Saturday in the last quarter and iced it up. Whether that has anything to do with him not being in the squad i don't know.

Marsh and Arbon are both from Clare, both work with T Edmonds over there and came with him when he moved here. Both play reasonably well.

Miller isnt in due to slight injury but what about Vonow? Surely he would be an inclusion

Have you seen Arbon and Tabe play this year OL? Both have played quite well in the 3 games
Do you always drink this much?

Quiet amusing about Vonow... The PLFL coach asked the TFC coach " who is this Vonow bloke and can /where does he play"

Response:- He plays in the midfield and goes good.

PLFL coach : " Its ok, we have plenty of midfielders"

Its interesting to see one of my former team mates Hayden McKinlay in the PLFL association squad. Hes played all of 3 games in that league after playing not a lot of football last year. Seems like a strange selection. Is it u23's over that way?

McKinley has played pretty well in his 3 games here, and new players to town with a bit of form are usually looked at for these games. Why didn't he play much footy last year?
Same as Steve Hammond..got genuine pace and is a ball getter. Got a whack on the nose (incidental) in the first 30 secs on Saturday, and spent the rest of the game on the bench trying to stem the flow.
No room for Vonow and Reincke......obviously doesnt rate Tasmans as much as the rest of us.

Tabe might not make the final cut, but a great experience for him. Is a player of the future.

So who would win?

2007

MJ (C), Paech, Ky M, Wake, Semmler, Horgs, G Schreibs, Greeny, Crouch, Wes B, Wade S, Cupcakes, Cocks, Campbell, Swalue, Levi S, Charman, Dunc, Billy O(Vc),JCS, Dorza, Grove-Fevola, DuBois, Joel H, Ness

vs

2008

Joe Cragg Sapsford, Matt Goodwin, Rory Hunt, Dale Bascomb, Steve Hammond
Devlin Walsh, Barry Johncock, Ky Miller, Stamford Wanganeen
Jamie Honner, Johann Wagner, Matt James, Ross Campbell, Hadyn McKinley
Hayden Parker, Carl Semmler, Scott Charman, Ricky Myers, Levi Smith, Steven Tokarski
Paul Theodosiou, Sam Wake, Michael Bates, Andrew North, Sam Kidney, Dylan Dunn
Brett Watherston, Rhys Marsh, Jack Arbon, Michael Tabe

Definitely 2008 for me. Interesting to see those still playing that didnt get picked. Will be surprised to see Easty play. Campbell and McKinlay probably will take the opportunity to go back to Goolwa. Would be good to see Derek Wanganeen get a game, I think he could really make a name for himself if he got a guernsey. Marshy, Levi Smith, Honner, McKinlay, Dylan Dunn and Batesy have all impressed me this year.

Apparently the coach is 'not fussed if you cant play, we have heaps of other players to choose from'. Good attitude champ.
“This is the accounts department, the number bods. Do not be fooled by their job descriptions, they are absolutely mad, all of ‘em. Especially that one, he’s mental. Not literally of course, that wouldn’t work.”
