only one good game out of the lot.
winners should be
tv
kersbrook
kangy
birdwood
meadows...... a beauty though. reckon meadows will rise to the occassion.
jq, every year either maccy, echunga and meadows play 2 sunday games against each other. the 3 teams are about a 10
minute from each other, and the rivalry has been there for ever. so it promotes a better day and better crowd.

Not a smart move to play a game on Mothers Day. Crows playing live on T.V. Who is going to watch a very average standard game of footy on Mothers day.

In relation to Nairne - committee decided Jimmy May was not the man to take the next step, after two straight preliminary final losses, selected Mike Duncan former Marion coach to replace him. Whether that had a bearing? Jimmy has moved to be assistant coach at Meadows. Clint Foster and Jarrad Tait have gone to England for cricket, while a couple of other handy players over the past couple of years have also moved on. Rams have been a bit disappointing and although showing a bit of desire, just don't seem to have the players to repeat effort of past couple of years. Have blooded a few youngsters, but I reckon they may struggle to make top five. Might bring a rye smile to a Meadows players face?

Who won out of Neadows and Echunga?

Lofty V Mount Barker was alot closer than past weeks. 6-7 goal win.
Lofty had heaps of good players missing and some locals said that Mount Barker had a number of players come down with the flu and pulled out in the last minute.

I always thought that'd be a close game.
Lofty just didn't quite do waht they had in the previous 4 games, their run was halted a bit a double-thought a few decisions.
Still, to beat the team that should finish 3rd by 7 goals is still handy. A bye this w/end would be useful too. Maybe a few back after that.
As for M V Ech, haven't heard anything.

I think Nairnes problem may be lost players, rumour has it they are wrapped in the new coach. Players that i can think of that aren't playing Clint Foster, Jarrad Tait, Mark Habner, Mick White ( I think thats most of their spine !) Habner was a gun ! Tarasenko brothers?? Have had some close games but the weekends loss to Birdwood must have com as a shock.

Good question...2 teams in Central will have a bevvy of players in there, but after that...maybe a few Echungarians, Kangarillians and Torrens Valleyites may make an appearance? Meadows too...

There will probably be only a couple of players in the team. Last year Carter and Danielle made it, the top two medalists and danielle was on the bench. I guess it shows the differencve between the two divisions and how the central div is that much stronger.

I would suspect alot of uradla and lofty players to be chosen to make the squad.

The top few from each team will have their chance. Hahndorf will have a few also, stansborough, stephens, ormand allen etc.
How good is footy!

You guys are joking about Lobethal, aren't you?
They had a MASSIVE time in the sun. There was a time (ie 90's mainly) that Lobie dominated, with hahndorf and a touch of Mt Barker blitzing. Other clubs couldn't stop them.
Now Lobie have 1 or 2 leanish years and it sounds like they've been there forever.
I do know some guys at Lofty (answering an earlier question) and Lobie and Hahndorf players haven't experienced anywhere near the lack of success and lean seasons yet, compared to say Bridgey and the Devils.

Exactly right JQ, teams such as Mt Lofty and Bridgewater have been cellar dwellers for years. I remeber only a couple of years ago Mt Lofty lost to Lobethal by 300 odd points. Now the tide has turned and it seems that everyone is feeling sorry for Lobethal. How quickly footy can change

Yep, 50 or 55 goals. Not much sympathy floating 'round then.
It goes in cycles. I have no pity.

JQ and On the ball - You guys make a great point, it is funny how footy changes so quickly, I forget that Lofty and bridgey have been down the bottom for years. From that point of view I agree that Lobethal deserve to be cellar dwellers, what I was trying to get at is that I want a very even competition. And looking at it, over the next few years it probably will be.
How good is footy!

Chook what about Chad Dawes from Meadows.
Trent Ormond Allen has to get a kick to make the side.

Yeah, I haven't seen Ormond in their best much, maybe only first game? I reckon there should be enough talent to pick on current form, other than names. depending how big the squad is, I agree hahndorf will have 3 or 4, Lobie 1 or 2, Mt Barker3 or 4 (Nunan, Lackenby, Auserlachhe....), and maybe the bottom 4 - 5 between them?

I think that Sutherland and Grainger would be annoyed with the Hills League if they picked to many players from Lofty and Uraidla. Rumours going around at the moment are that they have close to 10 players in the squad from each side. I know that should pick players on form but they should allow a maximum number per club.

I agree, to an extent, that there should be a maximum. it's the old adage - the more players you have in there, the more of a chance of injuries. And lofty and uraidla could really suffer if it was a draining carnival.
If it was on form, surely those 2 teams would have 15 reps between them...
