Watched them the other week against Nth haven and sorry felch their A grade side is crap
I agree with playing kids and developing the club but find some kids who can play, and maybe a coach who has some idea on what to do in a match winning situation, mind you their coaching appointments have never been great,
Russell Evans - Too good to coach A4 footy
Brenton Klabe - sacked after 3 games
Gavin Crack - Won a flag in a 2 sided competition
Greaham McInerney - Crap
Paul Marshall - great player, couldnt coach
Darren Hams - why did PAMFC get rid of him?
Current Coach - Crap
This club will be in A7 before to long[/quote

Gee Dudley sounds like your a good club man then, If you played for them why come out and bag them, or are you just trolling for reactions. Without a doubt the best coach that coached the PFC was Russell Evans but results will show that the most successful was G Crack. I think your leaving 1 bloke out too and Thats Mark Moody. Absolute crap that he didnt score the top job at some stage in Portlands history. As for the rest no support from the committee in terms of finance structure vision contributes to a coaches demise. Some of those coaches you mention especially one hung out to dry by some narrow minded people in high positions.

No trolling intended newman and your correct, Mark Moody should have been given the top job at some stage, maybe before he went on to coach A1 football? I was harsh on 1 other on the list, Marshy, could only lead the crap he was supplied and for the apparent wage to coach and play the club offered him, they should be ashamed.
The lower grades seem to suit Portland well as they dont have to dig into that nest egg they have been sitting on for 10+ years, but very soon even loyal supporters and players will seek a club with some pride and a forcast to play A1/A2 football.
Portland, bite the bullet, off load some of the so called expert committee and aim higher than 'just making the finals' or you may soon find yourself merging once again. Heaven forbid.
Dudley "Booger" Dawson: Did you get in her pants?

What part do you want me to elaborate on Stan? If you refer to the PAOC comment. I just found it hard to swallow that from the first bounce we were verbally attacked and snipered from behind by a team that has no coaches boxes, filthy change rooms, no club rooms, has limited running water but has sprinklers on the oval during the game, no hot water for showers, which was irrelevant because there was an electric current in the water and dog sh*t all over their oval, had the nerve to go on about us not deserving to even play them. I thought the divisions were based on the your performance from the previous year, ie. bottom 2 get relegated not whether your parents are Doctors or Lawyers. Please correct me if i am wrong.

PAOC are very very good, but beatable.

Have heard this story about Portland's Committee or Social Committee for years from within the club, which indicates some truth in the story. Are they limited by the club's income or are they not interested in the Football Operation's side. I'm not being negative lots of clubs are more conservative in their football ambitions.

I have to agree once again with you Ouzo, i have always had a huge issue with PAOC's facilities. There changerooms are a disgrace, and their oval would be one of the worst in the league - no atmosphere, poor surface and dog shit galore !

hey ouzo, i played at pultney one year where they had to reverse the tractor out of the changeroom so we could get changed and that was the size of the changeroom, just bigger enough for the tractor as i mentioned some time ago ALL college teams and parkland teams should be in their own competition>>> no club houses, no hot water, no coaches boxes, sh*tty changerooms, and we can leave them to all the dog sh*t they want

sorry mate i have played for nearly 31 years( not that i remember much as a kid ) but taperoo shed pretty sh*t ( but ledgend status ) vistors room at burnside on that sh*t hole after a rain was always a demoralising drive to the game, some country clubs sh*tty but the changeroom on the second oval at pultney is by far the worst, not even fit for the homeless people in the southern parklands

yeah the 2nd oval rooms are ordinary. It has to pass a OH&S audit every Saturday   at least the visitors side has showers now (one of the few improvements allowed) and in better nick that the home side.

i've put up with enough rubbish from people not knowing what they are on about bad mouthing our club, although i agree that the sprinkler incident against north haven in round one was a farce, but the adelaide city council are responsible for the oval and facilities as they are for all parkland ovals. i was unaware that each club has to patrol their oval and ensure that people walking their dogs on it pick up their droppings. in my 10 years of playing in the amateur league, i think it is one of the best ovals to play on. plenty of room and rarely turns into a slop heap. the changerooms arent state of the art, but they are more spacious than some of the 'district' clubs, even those playing in divisions one and two. the snipping and verbal attacks that you speak of are two way streets my friend, and happen at every game with passionate supporters. i would challenge you to list a physical snipe from any of our games. we like to think that we generally play the ball hard, but fair. i do agree that we are very beatable. for any side to stay focussed for a whole year and win every game takes a huge effort, and for a club that has won 7 games in the past 3 years, you would think nigh on impossible.

as for the dribble that we have got all of these paid players this year, we do not pay anyone a cent, and i know this for a fact. the 7 or 8 old scholars who have come to the club this year have done so because they are sick of seeing us getting smashed each week and want to do something about it, as well as being sick of travelling each weekend. the biggest improvement however has been from our younger players who now have 2 or 3 years of a grade in them and are really stepping up, as well as some luck so far with injuries.

bring on saturday!
