So with Uraidla getting rolled by Mt Barker it would appear the title race is wide open, the most open it has been in years, surely. Could be any of Blackwood, Barker, Uraidla, Hahndorf and Lofty. Ironbank and Onkas seem a little off the pace but it could be too early to tell.

Anyone game to predict the winner?

How is Big Scotty Purling travelling up at Hahndy?
I was told on the weekend that a few years back when he played CHB in the under 16 State Champs he gave none other than Lance "Buddy" Franklin (of Hawthorn Fame) an absolute bath. Just shows how much talent the bloke has got.

Thought that was the case. Bridgy must have improved though to make a contest for three quarters. I thought Lobethal were better in the B's than A's, some massive bodies that would be tough to beat on a wetter, slower oval.
We want Vaughn.

Ironbank b's very sloppy. Only due to Bridgy making a few costly errors that they got up in the end. May finish 4th or 5th but not a chance of a top 3 finish.

So if IB were sloppy would that not mean they probably made a few costly errors that also kept you in the game???

From my viewpoint IB got nailed in the centre square and on such a small oval that is going to cost you dearly... as well as the usual scrap type football (ala Sydney Swans) Shanty like to play that drags other teams down to thier level... made for a spectacle (if you support them) let me tell you haha!

Sure they did. Thats the point i'm making. We have played sides that don't make those errors and would never have let us get a sniff. Still beat us fair enuff but just saying the boys at ironbank shouldn't get too ahead of themselves E.g. the 'ironbank killer B's' nickname.

As for you blokes writing Bridgy off in earlier posts as Div 2. material from what happened against Ironbank I'd say we have much more potential to play competitive footy both now and in the future than a club like Lobethal for instance. Some promising signs from some junior players. Bridgy may be down but definitely not out.

He'd be alot better in your side P32 rather than getting hammered each week at Bridgewater.

Bridgy will cop some far bigger pastings than the effort IB put in on the weekend. Woeful effort from both teams IMO. Not something you pay money to watch.

Shanty Lad, again this is the exact attitude your clubs got and why you can't get off the bottom. Ask your players if they are going to be happy winning only 4 games this year ( Think Birdwood will beat you once ).Over the last 10 years your average has been 3 wins per year, improving I think not. The way your committee recruits players, your not going to be help there either. Stronger clubs Uradila, Barker, Hahndorf are also able to bring ex SNAFL player back to their clubs. Is Bridgey banking on McDonald & Evans coming back to the club??? You'll loose a lot more games than you'll win doing that. ( Country Div they only way up )

Shanty just need the likes of Mike Mifsud, Ryan Lenzi and Dion "D Bomber" Wright to stamp themselves on the HFL and they are top 5 material.

Bridgewater have not played A Grade finals in over a decade. Infact they have finished in the bottom 3 for the last 10 seasons at least and they talk up their chances year after year after year. Face it; Bridgewater are a division 2 club. Even in division 2 they'd struggle to make finals. They have trouble recruiting because they're facilities are 3rd world and their oval is the biggest sh*t heap going around. Can't recall many recruits having hung around for more than one season largely because of this and when they do recruit the locals whinge about recruits being paid and taking the place of local players. Bridgewater are the only club (excluding Birdwood who have only been in Div 1 for two seasons) not to have played finals footy in the past 4 seasons - as I said before Bridgy have not played finals in over a decade! Yes every other club has had peaks and troughs but Bridgewater have been in a bottomless trough for a long, long time and there appears no end in sight. They might beat Lobethal and maybe Birdwood this year but that'll be it.

Shanty lad - Bridgewater have been down and out for a long, long time. Your performance against Ironbank is one game. What about the other 3 games you've played this season? Two 25+ goal losses and one goal against Mt.Barker - That's not competitive footy shanty lad. They will never be competitive against the top division 1 teams unless the club merges or relocates because you are not going to recruit good players to a club with your facilities and current culture.

Here, Here Ted. I think the only way Bridgey will think about the move to Conutry Div, is if we keep talking about it on forums like this one. Lets help out their players, cos I know for a fact it's not them wanting to continue losing the way they have in Central. I really feel for the players their club's been shitting on them for years....it's about time they finally listen to what the players want, and that's to win!!!

He knew the situation up there though. He knew it would be a tough year. Dont think he is as upset as you blokes think.

No Teflon I believe the decision would have been much worse if he signed at Encounter Bay and ended up playing with a wank that broke his jaw last year. Cant believe Bassani tried the its a family club approach with him and then let someone like Rankine walk into the club. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB!!!
