jervois travel to meningie to see the detremental effects their dairy farming is having on the coorong
tailem head up river to mypo in what will be the closest battle of the round
and the roos head down for a shellacking at johnston park
the chooks have the bye and seeing as though they play the roos next week, would more than likely help imperials raise some more money to pay players and watch the slaughter in town.

the mypo - tailem game is the only one worth tipping as the other two should be 100+ point victories again.

The bluds have the bears at home!

Tailem werent to much to worry about all tho i heard they had out up too 7 players!
Mypo by 8 goal.

good call hills, you boys dont have to travel. it must be nearly knock off time or something.

i actually just heard that denty is an out for tailem this week also, so the tigers should easily account for the eagles.

hows the oval looking out at bludland hills? heard it was a bit dry and dusty early on in the season. has it greened up a little

The oval is looking ok at the moment, there has been a bit of rain but there are still a few patches around..lets pray for more of a down pour... On the oval topic, mannums is great!
Does anyone know how mypo's is??

3 fairly one sided matches i reckon

Jervois v Meningie - the Bluds hit form last week, Meningie wont be any match, Jervois by 24 goals.

Tailem Bend v Mypolonga - TB will want to hit back after last week's disappointment, if they have injury concerns they probably won't have enough depth to cover the Pedlers, Lynne etc. Mypo by 61- 70

Imperials v Mannum - Imps too much overall strength for the Roos, 14 goals.

Bluds v Meningie game will be interesting one been alot feeling over the past few years .IT will be the first time the two Sumner brothers will go up against there old club ,should be a bit of feeling there hope one of them get a league game. With the Roosters smashing the bears and kicking 30plusgoals anything less by the bluds would be disapointing . I here that the rigneys from meningie WILLY A and JJ want a clearance to jervois and are being held out .IT sounds like the bears havent learnt anything after keeping the two sumners out of footy for two years.IF they do this again someone should take there case to the AFL OR HIGHER to stop two boys being kept out of footy for another two years is this right ?

Are those 2 lads, Will A and JJ, 3 point players, or been out of footy for long enough to be a zero pointer?

They would be worth points but that is not the issue they should be cleared or playing football for someone

I realise that, but i was just wondering, given that Jervois wouldn't have that many points left.

I'm not close to the inner workings at Jervois, so only going by what i've read, but i think they possibly only have two 3 point players - the ruckman from EB and Beard from the Southern league so if thats the case thats only 6 points. Maybe they'll play them in the B grade and claim them as zero point players next year, or alternatively they can reduce their points tally by 1 for each under 17's player they play in the A grade.

If he played more than 10 games last year for the Bears, i think he'd be 3 points. Its a bit of a complicated system though so hard to know exactly.

Meningies side in this matter is that why would they give away 2 players who have played A grade for the club and live locally when they are already struggling??? Its bad enough when people leave the town to play somewhere else let alone when people who are still living in the town (or just out of) are playing football for the opposition.

i agree hills, you cant hold back blokes from playing footy no matter what the reason.

it is however highly frustrating for any club, when a player wants to leave their club and play for another, especially when its another in the same league. but the reality is it happens all the time and although it is a bitter pill to swallow, you have to allow them to be able to play the game and it is wrong to try to stop them.

i find it hard to believe that meningie have kept these boys out of footy for 2 years. if they really wanted to play, they just needed to resubmit their clearance for a second time and it automatically goes to a tribunal where all the facts are looked at and discussed.
as was the case with imperials Sumner (funnily enough), who wanted to be cleared to Tailem this year after being a top a grade player for the club over the years. imps refused it a few times, so it went to a tribunal last night i believe and hopefully he is able to play this week after watching the first few rounds.

another point is that this is one of the areas the new points system is trying to stop or at least reduce. as a grade players from other RMFL clubs are worth 3 points, the same as a SANFL reserves player. in the hope that it stops players moving around from club to club within the league.

Meningie didn't stop anyone playing football - if they wanted to play in their home town where they had both previously played they were welcome.

This is bullshit, these two boys should be playing football. Meningie are prepared to chase and try and recruit players from adelaide and beyond, but for some reason arent prepared to go and see local boys in the town and try and convince them to stay at the club. They would much rather restrict them from a much needed change in their football careers. The boys cant be blamed for knowing that playing at a better club will improve their development as young footballers and young men. Does any club have the right to really say "if you dont play for us, we wont clear you???" All crap aside these boys should be playing football, it doesnt matter for who in the end.

Whats the basic reason for these lads not wanting to play for the Bears anymore? I noticed theres another ex Meningie lad, Kenny Sumner at TB this year as well.
