Leo, how can you say " I guess i wouldn't have expected much more from an inexperienced coach of a bottom side in one of the weakest football leagues in country australia" and then go and say i'm not having a go at anyone in particular? :? I played in the GFFL last year and it certainly wasn't any weaker than the PLFL, possibly even stronger, Mind you the standard of football in Lincoln this year has risen. Anyway you are not doing yourself any favours bagging the Eyre United Football Club, they are a great club with great people as well as having a gun footy side. I agree that this year they have struggled a bit with people away and injuries but you watch they'll fire soon enough. Also in future, if we want to know how the u/19's are going we'll ask. Sick of you blowing wind up their arses!!! just for the record, i reckon a lincoln or Great Flinders side would demoralise your u/19's

anyway back to the real stuff boys.....the sanfl! the boys told me that yoey wagner is playing over here this weekend. his form has obviously been pretty good over there as i see he kicked 8 the other week. the changed of clubs has given him a new lease of life, good on him!
i give you guys a quick run down on how some of the ep lads are travelling...
luke carey is one who is starting to find his feet at this level and starting to stamp his mark on matches
corey grove is great when the ball is in the air and has untapped potential. a few areas he needs to work on if hes to make afl as some scouts have mentioned are his kicking for goal at distance can be inconsistant and when the ball is on the deck he seems to be a bit timid at times. this may have something to do with his junior footy being played at waybacks who are generally regarded as one of the softer teams in lincoln.
schreiber is getting more and more opportunities each week and is grabbing these with both hands and rarely gets beaten in his position. lets hope he gets up this week to tackle the redlegs as he has been a bit fluey this week.
dorza has played the last two games after playing well for virginia and whilst not setting the world on fire has been solid in his position and hasn't done a lot wrong without being spectatular. loves the opportunity to play sanfl but whilst it lasted certainly didn't mind the financial temper that footy up the highway offers.
keasty didn't set the world on fire and looked well underdone and behind the 8 ball with his fitness in his first couple of games before getting rested and has since suffered a further setback with his ankle. if he gets his ankle right and works hard to gain full fitness i have no doubt he will be one to watch and can turn a match with his silky skills and solid frame.
harder has warranted reserves selection as started the season in great form in the 19s but has been lagging a little bit in the ressies, but his form will pick up with more games as his confidence grows. he needs to watch his diet though
shanno is in my opinion the stand out of all these guys and has enough to warrant senior selection, his performances have been consistantly very good.
jack nelligan is playing consistant tough in and under footy, continually diving in and getting the pill and feeding it out to his teammates. sometimes i think he gets missed a bit because of his in and under game therefore don't think he gets the credit he deserves sometimes.
caleb howell hasn't missed a game and each week has been competitive in his position in what is a ultra competition big squad with lots of talent!
ps basco is itching to get a run...

gun side = wooden spoon last year, never a premiership and 0 - 3 so far this year, we obviously have differing opinion on the meaning of "gun side"! i may be young but unlike you i'm not stupid!
Just for the record you have never seen the 19s play in person and anyone who has would realise that these guys are the best young players selected from leagues all over and are in peak condition, train most nights and have expert coaching, unlike some! and anyone who has watched them play would realise that they are light years above the standard of any country footy. if in any doubt ask schreibs old man!
and this is copied from a port adelaide magpies forum that we have over here from people who actually go to games and know whats going on ...
Another thing is that these lads like Carey and Schreiber (played CHB in the Marble Range premiership side last year at 17 years of age) held down key positions extremely successfully last year in good sides and this year, as they are finding their feet, have been playing pockets and flanks (in a stronger competition again) and are not one of only say a couple of young guns in their side. That Maggies U19 side is full of them. So what I'm trying to say is that they are only one of the boys in town whereas back home they were looked up to and probably put on a pedestal a bit even. I hope that's not over the top. And it's got to be a pretty strong side when two key position players (playing against adults) aren't automatically selected in those positions.

ps. steakn stupidest post i have ever read from you! you make hs look like a rocket scientist!

from which club or clubs are these said scouts from?

I see that he has made the SA u/18 squad. Didn't seem to set the world on fire in his u/16 appearances and can he handle Sticks Phillips no bullshite approach?

yeah ok righto then Leo, how do you know that i have never seen the u/19's train or play. Wasn't that long ago that i was over there having a squiz. On Eyre United, any side with Fraser, Noble, Foster, Castley, Modra, Rowe, Evans, Telfer, Romeo, etc is going to be very competetive. Last year they beat every team bar tumby but lost some games they definately should have won. But there always is a loser. I meant an association side you tool, not just a club( talking about beating the u/19). That quote from a Port fan is an opinion only.

Anyway now that Leo has blown his trumpet again and upset some more posters and dribbled some shit we can get on with some real stuff ( I think Leo must have collected enough bottles and cans once again this week to pay for his once a week splurge at an internet cafe!)

Dont listen to him steakn he is a troll.

HS, Tips GFFL Vs PLFL next weekend. how are you seeing it now?
Whats your ruleing up there on players that get picked for the squad and dont make themselves available?

And im curious if Leo plays footy over there in the city or is he only there collecting cans. I think its about div 12 that the 'special' people get to run around and have a game on a sunday.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

top area of town to be building appartment blocks.
Id say the govt would look at putting the school there. that would be the logical thing to do.

maybe this was 'burfits vision'

Would probably be best suited for high density housing...wonder if there is a list where I can put my name down for one....
Isn't the school going on the land the other side of stamford terrace...I thought that was the reason for the tennis assoc. being volleyed back to St Andrews Tce and the SES / CFS being given the heave ho.

He could build a diplay village there. At least he would be able to keep all his recruits busy.
