Yes Dave Prescott has headed to Kangarilla. Has a few very close mates down there (Pannach & Wakefield). A big loss as did give physical presence on the field & willing to go get a hard ball. Best on ground in last years reserves ground final.

Morphett Vale very awesome outfit again. Their pressure to ball carrier is second to none. They cover dangerous players well, Moore was wrapped up the moment the ball hit his finger tips. I think umpires are happy to give him holding the ball once he is tackled though.

Hilly on the wing yesterday was damaging, noone wanted to be accountable for him, & it took a half for people to realise that Shorty will drop a kick or so behind the ball & someone might want to push up the ground to pick him up. Had at least 4 opponents (one was the guy Fishlock half killed). Bayly were quieter than normal but when they got it they hurt Reynella. Gaskin did some good things despite some poor discipline things, while Pollard was his usual self.

I thought the contest in the first half & a bit afterwards was better than the scoreboard reflected (Morphies still the better team), but after that Morphies were clear winners.

Reynella do have a lot to improve if they are to challenge Morphies at the end of the year, there is no secret about that after yesterday. Bring back Middleton & Bradshaw, then have Prescott for more than 10 minutes would make them a better side.

Comments on Butcher & Farrier were spot on in my opinion but disagree with Milo going missing. Its hard to be a focal point when Reynella have 5 or 6 starting in the goal square, or then have some of his team mates sit in the hole. You can only do what the team structure is built on & the delivery. Im not saying the team plan was wrong, just that Milo did what he could & was serviceable when he moved up the ground when the game was dead.

I think the earlier post on Luke Mensforth was a bit unkind, he played CHB and CHF at different times on Sunday and thought he played quite well, but must admit Wood didnt do a lot

Speaking to a friend from a different league who's team played against christies beach in a trial game before last season, said to me they couldn't believe Meekins was a senior coach, he who is a respected coach and has been at a league club said if Bachmann wasn't there he would have been an absolute joke, now this year his record is 3 and 0 but who have they played really, Noarlunga with out Comer, Flagstaff who are looking pretty average and Aldinga who are terrible and they took it up to them, and from what i heard they almost snatched it, then Meekins tried to steal there players, really top bloke if i was a christies player i wouldn't be happy that he didn't have the faith in us to take them thru, lucky i'm not hahaha NO BACHMANN NO CHRISTIES...

IP is this how Reynella always start with their forward line? They clearly should have the firepower up there with Milo and Farrier (plus some other HUGE bloke, dont know his name - he wore number 4) but having everyone crowded in the goal square certainly did them all no favours - just let the Emus defenders all get in Milo's ear nice and early!

Cant wait till Aaron Hill is back to full match fitness, he's a matchwinner on that wing.

after all the hype in the pre season with some recruiting by the challengers I would have thought some one would have challenged the Emu's.

Mex any impending internal disaster you can forsee to shake them up so we can see another team win?

KD, nothing on the horizon internal disaster wise mate, actually looking forward to a few more inclusions over the coming month, watch the Boot for the names.. As i reported earlier great to see the "rumoured retired" Matty Joras back playing again, had his time off to get things right and has played 2 great games in the B grade (especially on the weekend) will push into the A grade very soon...

Mex thats amazing that Matty Joras is runnin round in the Magoos!!! One of the best players ive played with at Country level!! Mind you a lot of names i can come up with are currently at Morphett Vale. Strong club with great values and loyalty.
Hill and Earl on the wings again must be exciting the fans down there, 2 of the most dominant wingman going round id say.

Hill especially after his knee reco has been a huge inclusion, his confidence is growing each week that he gets through, played his best game this year on the weekend and he will only get better...

Maybe the rest of the league should have a good hard look at what the emus do to make them into the powerhouse that they have become you have to take your hat off to Trevor Potts and Steve Hill for what they have done for that club.

Ha ha i wouldnt go too far Cyclops, round 3 just finished! Im sure people from Hallet Cove and Happy Valley would have something to say about this, Emus face Cove in 2 weeks time and they have been rolling along very nicely indeed. And the Valleys havent been getting much airplay on this site but they are always a tough and well drilled side.

Plus plenty of time left in the season, time enough for Brighton to sort out a key forward or better forward line structure (thats what i reckon they lacked when we played them) and for Reynella to sort themselves out to play to the potential that we are all pretty sure is there.

Plus with Morphie Park, Aldinga, and Hackham improving, and i read somewhere Comer finally played for the Shoes, there is plenty of life left in this season yet!

Spot on in recognising the work of Pottsy and Hilly tho.

What a partnership that was, following up the brilliance of Potts with the passion of Hill. Sure you need the junior programme and the talent, but the current Morphett Vale has been made possible by linking that with outstanding leadership.
Hilly's got to be getting close to joining the Hall Of Famers isn't he ? Admittedly four of his six Premierships have been B-Grade, but if he bags this one (making three A-Grade in a row) plus all his behind the scenes work in the Inter-League arena would sure get him my vote. He's even taken a Hackham team top.
