You guys are joking about Lobethal, aren't you?
They had a MASSIVE time in the sun. There was a time (ie 90's mainly) that Lobie dominated, with hahndorf and a touch of Mt Barker blitzing. Other clubs couldn't stop them.
Now Lobie have 1 or 2 leanish years and it sounds like they've been there forever.
I do know some guys at Lofty (answering an earlier question) and Lobie and Hahndorf players haven't experienced anywhere near the lack of success and lean seasons yet, compared to say Bridgey and the Devils.

Fidge from the Bays coaching at Marion $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. That would be the only reason I would be coaching scrubbers. The rest end up at Maccy or bute

Plympton High Old Scholars was formed in the 70's, playing at the back of the school. PHOS then moved to Camden oval and joined Camden to create PHOS Camden, playing in Div 3 where PHOS played the previuos season, also keeping its blue and gold colours. The Greeks left Camden Oval (with debts) and joined Henley to become Henley Greek, this allowing Henley to join from SAFA and go straight in Div 1, but keeping the Greeks navy & white colours (Henley have since dropped Greek from its name and changed the design of their gurnseys). I worked out who Mad Dog is from his comments. As for Sandford, PHOSC did loose players but most of them had played their best footy and were feeling the pinch playing A1 footy each week, with age, injury or commitments catching up with them. Pohlner was a huge loss but as all stories go, dont let truth get in the way.

Exactly right JQ, teams such as Mt Lofty and Bridgewater have been cellar dwellers for years. I remeber only a couple of years ago Mt Lofty lost to Lobethal by 300 odd points. Now the tide has turned and it seems that everyone is feeling sorry for Lobethal. How quickly footy can change

I can take by this comment that the person I have already referred to you as is not playing for them this year.
Hope you're not involved with the club that is the next port of call on the way to Clarendon, because they certainly paid plenty of outsiders in 2001 to go along with the emerging talent that they had.

Yep, 50 or 55 goals. Not much sympathy floating 'round then.
It goes in cycles. I have no pity.

Glenn is a good guy. Im sure he will say he struggled playing/coach in his first year. Not an enviable job at all in my eyes.
I dont really care if you say you know who I am. Im not hiding behind anything. Id be pleased if you dropped a message to me and said who you are then? Finally sunny over here in the UK. 20 degrees is hot for these whinging poms though!

PHOS great club, with a great bunch of blokes who enjoyed good success in DIV 1 footy. I hope they take out DIV 2 this year and get back up to DIV 1.

Dont think i know of anyone who left because of personal reasons. I know a few went to the Hills to play with mates and a couple went to other Amateur clubs.

Polly is a superstar. Anyone know how he is getting on back home with his footy this year and if he ended up buying a pub up that way. Im not sure maybe he reads these posts haha!

I don't know much about Country div, I just thought Nairne may have been stronger? I played against them in what was Div 1 back then. Even thought they weren't strong, I would have thought going to Div 2 would have been a good chance to rebuild.

Righto guys, Central tips?
Mine are:
Lobie over Bridgey
Uraidla over Ironbank
Blackwood to arrest the slide, sneaking home over Hahndorf...that could blow up in my face!
And Lofty in a good game over Barker, Sat night. If you're not up to much, I reckon it could be a great game. Good atmosphere.

Sorry, not sure of Country fixture.

To answer everyones question. Lallard is actually a great guy. I did forget about Tailem Bend with Corey Smelt going there. Its interesting cause Tailem have sacked all there payed players so obviously he got the bad crop of ex Marion lads. Ironbank do have a couple and for there sake thank god. Interesting to see Stephen Carr back at Bute as Slade has freed up some cash since he has done his knee.

Maddog I apologise for sounding rude. I was clearly searching for some gossip. Not a big fan of Sandford as I have only played against him years ago. Sounds like the U.K would be fantastic at this time of year. Especially leading up the the ashes series in Australia in December.

Poly is a great player and I haven't heard much about him since he has gone home.

My game of the week: Loby and Bridgey. =Loby by a small margin
Lofty will smash barker
Uraidla to smash ironbank
Hahndorf to beat Blackwood just.

sprinter,
lallard is obvioulsy a good friend of yours. (or are you him??) agreed he is a good bloke, but i reckon he might have a somewhat mild case of white line fever!!

Definetly not Lallard mate. I agree with the white line fever. I have only meet him twice and he was just a great country lad to have a beer with.
