Willunga 30 - 40 Straths season on the line Round 4 ?? if they lose this it will be back to their soft old ways and we are back to a 2 horse race -well one reallly.
Vale 1 - 10 Saints may get up here if they can get all the recruits on the park. Must be very dissapointed after all the preseason hype.

That would be 5 from 5 yet again.

Game at Willunga was a good hard fought affain and apart from 15 minutes in the 2nd quarter when we got on top it was a good even contest. Both sides have some things to work on and took some positives out of the game. We played without Thomas and Steele so to be able to cover the loss of those 2 was a credit to the boys. Happy to get the points.

Encounter Bay down by under a goal again heartbreakjing stuff!! Other than the early season beltings its evened up with sides settling a bit! Good to see!

So lets get this straight. Willunga won comfortably without Thomas and Steele and I presume that Haskett and Ryan didnt play? Was there a presenation of the trophy after the game yesterday?

LF Haskett and Ryan played, Ryan played up until halfway through 3rd quarter.

There was a trophy after the game, the Ivan Cross cup will stay with Willunga for another year as the only way to win it back is to win at the oppositions home ground.

LF what happened with the Saints down at Mclarens?

We need your help! Both games against Bays and McLarens we have put ourselves in postions to win but we have forgotten how to (sounds like a typical footy cliche) We just need need one win to get some confidence. A positive note is that we got 13 goals out of 1st and 2nd year A graders, and new player Coote was amongst the best. Shane Fox also had a positive return after a long term injury, but if we dont get a win soon its all doom and gloom. Its now or never against Yank at home this week. The biggest problem for us is that it seems that it will be tight from 5th to 10th and we have already blown 2 chances. Those losses will be hard to recoup.

Could the saints be the port power of the competition? come 0-4 maybe even 0-5 and make the finals? or atleast give them a shake? As choco said about port, saints are probably the best 0-4 side in a long time.

Well they take on Yank this week so if they're 0-5 there'll be cause for concern..

I rate Yank too, (i rate every team this year, just not against Willunga) so will be a very tough game.

Lets hope the saints can turn things around, I got to see the game on Saturday and they showed patches of good flowing footy but just had too many players in and out and not using the run provided. Coote looked very settled and used the ball very well all day, very smart player and if saints can get Fennel out playing and get the running game going they should turn things around. Half way through the third qtr the Saints looked back on track when they got a couple of good fast goals but let them selves down with the first half efforts!
Sounds like the Victor VS. Bay was a good game also and no doubt its one that going to be talked about in the community and the victor boys celebrated long and hard into the hours of Sunday arvo!
Also heard Victor could have a new guy looking at sighning in the coming week or so that will compliment the like of Jurek and Hodge so look out for this one. Victor are looking better all the time.

With the way the Creeks have bounced back from Rd 2 im glad we arent playing them for a few more rounds. They seem to have hit there straps and will still be a serious contender some September along with Strathalbyn. Without seeing any of the other sides ie Compass, Bays and Victor i would be guessing but they will be the other sides to challenge for the 5.

BJ - You guys beat Strath by 5 without both ruckman? I did see that you were the only midfielder in the best. The others struggled not having it served on a platter this week?

LIMB - What were Pongy like? Spoke to one of the boys and they were extremely disapointted with their team effort.

Haha, no the midfielders didnt struggle altho it was a different set up, with both of them back this week or maybe Thomas another week away hoepfully we settle again, Langford was good in the ruck however and gave a very good contest for his half of rucking. Was a strange game but the positive to come out of the game was younger guys in Williamson who rucked early before moving onto Russell Tucker and playing him well, Jimmy Toone and Andy Mac on the wings were very good also.

WoW the Jervois machine back on track with big Rigs kicking 8.

Also you rarely see Pongy going down at Pongy like they did on Saturday id expect a fired up Mudlarks outfit this Saturdya!

The first Qtr on the weekend 4 the Bluds was team footy at its best. Rigs is a freak. I think he actually kicked 9.5

I dont think Pongy thought that they would win but they do pride themselves on letting the opposition know they've played a game of footy.

I think Myponga they probably need to recruit 2 or 3 good players before they'll challenge the top sides. You can't knock their attack on the footy and heart but they just didn't have enough players contributing.

That was also probably the best game that Langhorne Creek have played this year and the first time in '08 that we've had our best 21 players available.

I seen the Mclarens game on sat although watching the B grade from behind I could not tell who was who as the jumpers are identical then in the A grade Mclaren wore a totally different jumper, how come the A and B grade wear different jumpers?
Thats the best I have seen Mclaren play this season they were running hard all day, the Saints when they played their 10 minutes of football in each qtr ran all over them they just have too many guys in the middle trying to be a hero and get around 5 opposition players instead of using a hand ball and letting guys run the ball. It looked like the Saints have no confidence in each others ability.
Little Libba for Mclarens was hurting the saint all around the ground while Elliot for Mclarens was involved in every attack they had and the CHF with the big dread locks was allowed to run 10m clear all day and take relatively un contested marks in and around the 50m line that proved the difference on the final score board. The saints had no answer for a ruckman against Mclarens big men (who are not too big).
For the Saints Coote looked at home rebounding all day and always keeping his composure under pressure, Dale Cuthbert made the most of his opportunities down forward and creating problems for Mclarens all day with his skills and rearly made a mistake kicking goals from any wear he could get the ball, and #12 on the wing (Ryan Fox I think it was) was standing up in every contest and looking very smooth with every movement then kicking a very good goal on the run to try lift his side.
Also the talk in the club rooms after was the Mckinlay lad that plays for Mclaren is going to Victor now.

I did notice in last weeks times that the back of the Mclaren guernseys were very simliar to the saints. Maybe the A grade noticed that in the B's so pulledthe old guernseys out.

That would be Dean Mckinlay, has been playing some good footy for south this year but i believe his boy friend plays at victor so that might be the reason he is heading there. Must be missing not playing with him at South.

The Saints could do with all their local players back!

Apparently Mclaren realised their jumpers clashed during the B grade so they wore last years "Crows" guernsey in the A Grade. After chalking up their first win for the season the players may wish to stay in them for the rest of the year.

Luvsfooty realised they clashed, and suggested they pulled the old ones out for the As. Paul Crate, who was umpiring the B's had some big problems picking the teams from the back.
