Obviously they took a while to get points on board, but could be one to watch in mid-season. Brookers just keep winning games, and don't forget, are currently only ones to beat Echunga. Brad Pearce must be knocking up the umpy votes, while his brother Nathan, the Hughes boys, Chopper Westley and Jimmy Morrison get plenty of the ball. and big ugly Tappy oozes a bit of physcial menace! Once again, quiet achievers, who could cause some grief. While on Country, have heard a whisper that one particular club may not be 'flying' so high at this stage. Current form suggests in for a long season, suggestions maybe a few may migrate in an easterly direction.

Blackwood or Nairne...?

I know you said the whole 'flying' thing, but I thought Nairne and Blackwood would be disappointed moreso with where they are...

ball magnet, as i have already mentioned, can't see maccy getting any higher than 7th. tv, meadows, echunga, kersbrook, kangy, birdwood and nairne will be higher than them. who have they beaten?? gums and blackwood. will be a long year for both of those teams. maccy might beat nairne, but that keeps them at 7th. birdwood, echunga and meadows have beaten them, and i reckon birdwood will miss out on the 5.
they will be where they have been for a while now, middle of the road or just below!!

have heard of some rumblings at blackwood. could get interesting.

Well that's a very long and involved story Chook so we'll leave it at that. Certainly not something for an anonymous public forum. Suffice to say there is no bad blood or ill feeling from either parties and as I said earlier we wish them the very best for the rest of the season.

As for me I'm coaching 4/5's at an SFL club (not whom you'd think). It's very rewarding watching the kids improve.

Valleys & Chook, I'm not sure what's going on...
Valleys - you were formally involved with the Dogs, but not any more. You are a coach but not Stringer...?

WishIwas - I decided to go to the UK for 6 months to take up a contract playing cricket. I played at Sturt 17s and 19s then PHOS. I would have loved to played hills footy cos I know loads of blokes up there. I follow all the results pretty closely.
Will see what happens next year cos I get back to Adelaide at the end of September this yr.

Maddog I dare say you are close to Edwards, Bensch etc. I would say you have some connection to Blackwood if you played at PHOS. I also dare say that you left PHOS cause of all the crap with Sandford. Am I on the right track?

It's not a college Plympton High. And most blokes that played there in the 80's and 90's would consider being called Pembroke a huge insult.

Was interested in what "crap" went on with Sandford? Old Mad Dog never left the club, he has been playing cricket in the UK for the past 2 winters, I would suggest if the big fella was playing footy he would be sitting in a forward pocket for the Phantoms.

Plympton High Old Scholar which was originally Greek Camden. Im curious how Grumblebum knows that Maddog is big. I misunderstood the U.K Cricket.
Sandford had a habit of sleeping with his team mates partners. Great bloke. Hense why heaps of players left when he got the coaching job. I.E Malcolm Polyner who plays at Goodwood Saints.

Enough of lofty for the minute. I swear there is just Lofty supporters on here!!

Uraidla have been labelled the premiership favourites this year from various sources. They seem to be smashing teams by ten goals and no one has been talking about them. I reckon they will finish top two this year along with Lofty.

They have some quality players including some really good recruits who have jumped on board this year. Helps having scotty sutherland as coach.

Did anyone get to the uraidla game and give me a low down on what happened. I went to a few games late last year and was impressed with Tavner, Anderson and Hardacre. How are they travelling??

Lobethal seem to be hitting some straps, how are the famous gun recruits Cook and Ormand Allen travelling?

Hey, Chook. There seems to be supporters from all over the hills. People just tend to talk about teams we may know a bit about. I'm happy to hear about any other teams.
Of course Lofty will get some air time when their average winning margin is about 100 pts. But teams from both divs have been discussed, you just musn't have been on here...
Real gutsy out-on-a-limb comment with the Uraidla/Lofty top 2 finish, too...
Read recent postings, Hardacre seems to have departed.

Just Quietly - Yeah pretty gutsy call with only a quarter of the way through the season, but Uraidla have got some really good players, and scott sutherland will have those guys playing well at the right time. Interesting about Hardacre, he will be missed.

fair call about the other teams, it seems as though you know a bit about lofty, do you know any of the guys??

I guess I have always been one that likes to see the lesser teams do well, like lobethal and hahndorf who are not stand outs but have the cattle do be very competitive.
How good is footy!
