Has anyone else had trouble changing their avatars? It comes up with an error message, and a red cross in place of the avatar. Can email the picture to Wedgie who will put it on, but problem probably needs to be fixed before other things stuff up too.

Hi pafc1870, its the first Ive heard of it but yes, if anyone tries to put up an avatar if it doesn't work just email it to me or send me a pm letting me know where it is on internet.
Has to be smaller than 100X100 pixels though.

It might be the permissions of the avatar folder Wedgie - check that out.

I tried a while ago and it didn't work (like, when we first moved to the new host) so I just linked to one on my site. I forgot to mention it at the time though.

If you change your avatar to a red cross on a white box, then there won't be a problem

I have trouble linking a graphic in my posts. I'm using your html guide Wedgie that's sitting in the poolroom on FootySA. Just brings up the url and no graphic. I can't use the "Add image to post" at work.... 8)

FootySA is different to SAFooty in that this uses phpbb2 and FootySA uses a hacked versnio of PHPNuke. What you can and can't do is different, and the HTML code won't work on here.

For images, use the "Img" button on the editor, and put the URL to the image inside that.

heya Magic, that was a dodgy address you used, probably from a yahoo site, try another, you had the tags in the right spot.

I'll investigate what's happening with the avatar folder, seems to be an issue since I moved sites.

Thanks for letting me know.
As mentioned before, just email me any avatar smaller than 100X100 pixels that you want to use if you can't get it to work.

WRxbOy, no chance of making it bigger, I can change it so it will accept bigger avatars but I don't want them any bigger as they use up bandwidth and make pages a bit longer to load especially for people with dialup.

Fixed now, Diss, you were spot on, the permissions of the folder had to be reset.
Everyone should be able to upload pics for avatars now, just remember, keep them less than 100 X 100 or I'll get cranky and delete it.
I've tested it out and it worked OK for me. Let me know how ya's go.

Yep, got it to work now. All seems fine, but people may have to redo their avatars.
