Bays were good on the weekend and should have won. Bass did have a chance to stitch the game up, but unlike last week couldn't quite nail it. Bays could make the 5 this year, which is not where most had them. LF, seeing you are drawing odds, what is the mix for teams to make the 5? Bassani is geting something out of his youngsters such as Nelson and Jenkins and playing colts.

Some tight games on the weekend however the big interest for me was the ANZAC Day clash; lets see Strath bounce back and give atleast a whimper against the Demons. My only concern in watching strath was the fact they seemed very one dimensional which suits any opposing team with enough runners and tight checkers.

The Bays would be seething at the loss while Mypo would being sighing with relief but one thing people have not mentioned is whats going on at McLaren Vale? Thats two in a row they have dropped to less fancied opponents possibly?

BJ, I wasn't completely impressed up until 3/4 time but with Thomas and Baxter to return and with an average winning margin of 132.33 points, including a 100 point belting of last years most dominant team what more can you say.

Top 5 betting

Willunga Suspended
Strath $1.05
LC $1.05
Compass $1.15
VH $1.20
Bays $1.50
Myponga $1.70
Yank $2.00
Saints $2.40
McLaren $2.40

Wouldn't have thought that Victor were less fancied against the Vale and if Kym White can see out 2 hours of footy this coming weekend against the Bays the Roos might be taking the points.

ah after my trip away i get on here and see that curran (wanker) has let his rules slide again with strath, if i were goolwa i would not be accepting the answer to their question, i would want the win.

looks like we can all go and get players that will push us over the limit and play them as we all get a second chance. Hey who knows might not even have to get clearances for blokes, old curran might let that slide aswel.

Id love to know the exact way the points system works. If i played in the SFL and played A grade last yr, (say 12 games) am i worth 3 points PLUS the 1 point for playing or 3 points all up.

Also where are these Strath guys from and how can some people believe they are worth an extra 6 points than Strath are declaring on there team sheets if they are indeed declaring 26 instead of 32.

If this is the case how can clubs be allowed to get away with this. They (league executives with the Help  of the clubs) brought in this system but there are no laws being enforced if this is the case, I'd be interested to hear why there are rules that are not being adhered to and things that should be black and white appear to have a lot of grey!

I also am not accusing Strathalbyn of anything, as i dont see a problem with them playing the 32 points, my issue is how its not CLEAR what a player is worth and how it can be confusing at all! Tidy it up GSFL

Well said BJ. In your example you would be 3 additional points to the 1 point everyone registers if you are not a colt (colts are 0 points). So in the points column you would be 4. The 2 Strath players under question come from Amateur League so they have to be more than the 1 point the club are claiming. There are penalties if clubs do not adhere to the rules and it will be interesting to see how the GSFL handles this. Everyone is waiting, and like Grape Ape said in a previous post if nothing is done then a precedent is set.

Are you sure about that interpretation Toughcall? I was of the understanding that you would attract the 3 points and not the additional 1 point. I'm no expert though. The local derby between Victor & the Bays should be a close contest this week and the Saints should record their first win for the year if the can play to their potential against McLaren.

Yes limb, it is additional points to the base 1 point. A player from the GSFL, SFL, Amateur 1,2,3, RMFL, HFL changing clubs would be 3 points on top of the 1.

Gents what are the exact penalties that apply for understating the amount of points you play in a weekend? Also does the penalty change if you if understate your points but still come in under your allocation?

The GSFL should've of at the very least placed themselves in a position to enforce rules early while all clubs are getting used to the system, as it is with the seeming lack of communication between clubs and the league its becoming a farce. After round 1 clubs (strath) who were rumoured to be in breach should've of been warned and given the chance to explain; this should not be handled coming into round 4! If the penalty is great then strath will fight it all season one would think which also may see the GSFL back down and turn a blind eye - I hope this is settled very quickly for the sake of your association in the short term.

Back to footy; tips for round four?

Yes another good round of footy this weekend Limb.

Victor and the Bays should be close, the Bays are a bit of an unknown if you ask me and im enjoying the fact they are winning some games and took it right up to Compass last week with more scoring shots maybe they should have won it??

Creeks at Pongy could be a close one with the rainy conditions this week but the Creeks seem to want to play it in close and tough so i think they will win.

Strath down to Willunga for a big game hopefully we can pull it together and take the points.

Mclarens hosting Saints and if the Saints can find a key forward to kick to then they should take the points.

Yank to get beaten by Compass but hoepfully a close game down there with Yank to improve as the season goes on.

Bays
Willunga
Creeks
McLaren to record their first win; Saints just can't perform under any type of pressure and McLaren are chasing a win badly.
