It is a personal Div 6 joke - but you are THE FC so we'll let you in - Hope Valley are deemed to be situated at the Gateway to Houghton!

Which half of Duggan do we get?

He certainly taught your "self proclaimed" best onballer how to play good footy #-o

??

Who you talking about? Although he smashed us in the first quarter and went through three opponents, Duggan got SFA of the ball after Schulzy went to him in the second quarter.

What about the twenty stats and 4 goals he got in the first quarter?
It was all over by the second quarter it was a bit too late

Duggan wears no 9 right and Schulz 27 for houghton? i agree duggan got heaps of it in the first quarter but from what i saw, i thought it was one of the most comical tagging matchups ive ever seen. Schulz spent 3 quarters grappling all over Duggan while they were 100+ metres from the ball and even when they were behind the ball (meaning hope valley were going forward and they were in the back lines). What the??? Also Schulz couldnt even keep up with Duggan and was buggered. Yet on the other hand, Duggan spent all his time worried about the tagger trying to run away from him when they were 150 metres from the ball. It was great for a laugh. If Duggan with his pace and strength just worried about getting to contests and hitting the ball hard, the tag would have been hopeless!!!

He played one good quarter. Big deal. He ran around in circles for the rest of the match. Talk up the blokes who smashed us in the middle for four entire quarters, Farrel and Gower, they actually deserve it and are the one's who showed us how to play good footy.

Correct Bondy
It was one of the more comical tags I have seen
Quichey, I guess i was just surprised that Cab didnt give him a decent tag after the first 5 minutes

I guess the point of a tag is to not sacrifice one of your better players, it's a shame that our vice captain was the only one, out of the four who played on Duggan, that had the discipline to shut him out. It's not as though Cab was asking to tag Duggan out of the game AND get a heap of the ball yourself, one had to simply sacrifice their game, which isn't hard, but the younger fellas just weren't up to it.

your right to an extent Quichey, but true taggers or probably more known as shut down players these days like Cameron Ling and Kane Cornes are able to shut down their player while still collecting 20+ touches themselves so it has changed quite a bit. But lets face it, most of the time amateur clubs arent going to have those sort of players cause lets face it, I love playing footy but I would hate to spend my 2 hours on a saturday afternoon chasing a guy around with the sole intent on stopping him getting the footy.

Hehe, wasn't really referring to the pro's, just lowly Div 6, but gifted is a player who can shut his man out and himself dominate.

Why not accept the challenge of shutting someone down? You play for a team, for footy mates, for the win and every role given is crucial. At the end of the day who cares if you didn't have twenty touches if the end result was your tag being pivotal in your teams victory.

Firstly yes, but then provide rebound and linkage.
