Fantastic night at Devil Park on Friday ...big crowd, weather held off, great atmosphere. Bit disappointing in nature of game as Mt Lofty stormed to a 16-16 to 9-5 win. Doggies didn't kick a goal until mid way in second term. Some atrocious skills and turnovers suggest that Onkas may be under the pump for a top 5 spot given its a tough road back from 3 straight losses to start the season.

Credit to Birdwood, they are a team on the up for sure. Actually the whole club despite not coming off with a win against uri are showing some really good signs. Played with a lot of heart, looking forward to future battles.

Devs win on friday night was a corker. A good crowd rocked up and the rain stayed away until the last minutes of the final quarter....when the sprinklers decided to come on as well!

Solid performance by Lofty though. Sammy Broadbridge had the ball on a string and was very stiff i thought to only get fifth best.

Despite all this the Devils should have won by a lot more. And with Matty Stapes and Pencil Temme to come back they're only gonna get stronger.

Any News on NPG's finger?

Heard a rumour that Mt Lofty may see the return of one the guys that left the club at the beginning of the year. Apparently not happy where he is and wants to head back up the hill A.S.A.P.

Not a fan of the trio named Schimma?

It's definately a good thing for lofty. All 3 of the guys fit in well at Devil Land, and all 3 can obviously play footy. Lofty are a bit light on in the forward department this year, one of those guys would be very very handy!

There's rumours there might be another 2 premiership players from last year who float back into the mix at some stage this year....don't right the devils chances of a three-peat off just yet!

Any idea why the individual in question isn't happy Mav? Is it that he's been playing out of position? Doesn't like the coach or the blokes?

don't think it's any of those reasons mate. don't think he likes or rates the league he's in and maybe misses the footy and atmosphere of the hills.

be good to see one of the boys back up the hill from athelstone. think rosco has an injury at the moment and is planning on heading osea this year so would question if it was him coming back. white is enjoying himself down there from what i have heard. it could be flash as think he wants to play footy but don't no if he is as commited as they would like. but than again he is living a long way from lofty which is a reason he left originally. think lofty would welcome any of those 3 back tho and in all honesty could be anyone of them.

so anyone from ironbank wanna make a post on ow good blackwood were? fair few more scoring shots from the looks of things

Ron they actually kicked 11.10 (not 11.19 as posted on this thread earlier)... But yes a very good side IMO.

Gigney just sat a kick behind the play most of the day & cleaned up everything, was a real battle of defences from both sides actually... only a couple of goals in it at 3/4 time from memory, the Woods went on with it from there with a bit more system moving forward.

Great game to watch considering the weather had set in after the 2's game (as it does most Saturdays)
