It was a good contest ruined by the decisions of the dark haired umpire that could at best be described as confusing - in reality many decisions just plain wrong. If the APFL umpiring coach was at the game surely there will need to be questions asked of that umpire. Hopefully we will see him in a U14s game next week to regain his "form".

TW were good and did have a big target - I am sure he would love being called young :D

A Bloke with his reputation and to turn out like he did yesterday is a disgrace to him and to Virginia, who have some blokes who actually put in, and to see this lump lope around falling over was embarrassing for him. The Rams will have a look at his contribution over coming weeks and he will be invited to leave, i will give you that he had a hamstring complaint, but when he ran at goals he ran hard, but not too hard elsewhere, even had to be helped off the ground.

I would think a coach of Phillips' experience would see that this bloke is not contributing - don't reckon he did a pre-season by the look of him - played CHF most of the day and was very well blanketed by the big TW CHB - probably spent 50% of the game on the wing leaving nothing for V in the key attacking position. Bit of work needed at V methinks.

I see from http://www.football-online.com.au that Hamley beat Balak - I assume walker got at least a game for last weeks indescretion leaving Balak without any quality ruckmen. Anyone see the game?

I'm not sure what reputation he has Rooster. I think he has a reputation for asking for more money than he's worth. Doe s Virginia still have those former Port 19s out? I think they were a blond onballer and lanky blond ruckman. They would benifit from a bit of leadership and hard work from the Big O. At the momnent I think they will be taught how to slut themselves out to footy clubs.

Gee Whiz Rooster, you would want have been a good player in your time!! because you write absolute crap about people. Ricky might have had an off day, ever thought of that. I bet you he was and probadly is a better player than you would have been, then again your only a B-Grader, as your comments suggest.

No you may be right, and i honestly hope he did have an "off" day, but there was nothing in his form to suggest that he was trying to turn it around, or even could, i may be harsh in my critisism, but there are plenty of us in this league that enjoy watching local blokes busting their bollocks and when recruits come to a side and command a bit of a quid (no idea how much $$ but there would be some $$!) it's disapointing to see teams get stiffed.
This goes for any import regardless of what team they play for being an import to a country club is an honour, and should not taken lightly, there are plenty of eyes on you as a paid player/import and there is also plenty of talk when you aren't getting a kick, theres no place to hide.

Ps, B-Graders still know plenty about football by the way and i bet Ricky was a better player than i ever was, i enjoyed both of his two kicks yesterday.
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

Yes carey, Ricky o would have a few thing on is mind, but when it comes to work you just have to knukle down and deliver what you are selling. It will be better for him, and all around him to incourge him to get back to what he is good at, playing dazzling football. and by the way rooster all families have problems from time to time. dont be to judgemental, it might come back and bite you on the ass

Before making such a judgement about what was written in the paper, find out the real story and the "poor blighter" had provoked the fight and was second best with his mates! Newspapers make up what they want.

Whether he provoked the incident or not - a boot to the head is a boot to the head.

Ok, so the rest of us have to get by with reading the Advertiser! it's just a shame that what the court reporter has written isn't the facts! Do you get what i'm saying, i could care less, but i know there are blokes in the plains who do.

And we all have problems, Family, financial, employment, and so on so just to let you blokes know i have had more than most, and still do so don't think that human beings can't function if they have a problem.

Get on with it.

He also mentioned that they would be striving to improve their list over the next few years, so i would suggest that a few of their scouts would be out and about, trying to poach other players from several leagues including our great league. Now i wouldn't expect people to be handing in clearance forms straight away, he mentioned the fact that they were quite flush with coin, im not too sure that they know how much money goes through a country club instead of an amateur club, but i think they have a rude awakening headed their way.

personally i would have thought they would have a crack at getting into the APFL as the 8th side, but noooo, big dreams it seems!!

I couldnt think of anything worse than a side from Angle Vale coming into this league. I think your all forgetting that 95% of players and supporters within this competition are from the country and enjoy the country atmosphere and lifestyle of country footy on Saturday afternoon. Angle Vale... country????? Yeah right, head the other way boys. If we need another teams the only solution is north or east, not even closer to Adelaide. Give me a break!!!! Amateur teams from the northern suburbs would be the last teams that i want to be involved with. I realise thats only my opinion but im certain im not alone. Heading south = Trouble with capital "T" and we hear of sh#t happening far too often from that neck of the woods as it is.
Country or Suburbian footy?? I know what i would rather.

Easy Swampy put the gun back in the holster son, I only said that i would have thought that getting into the BLG or the APFL is a massive stretch for these boguns, i don't want to see another team from Angle Vale, i would prefer another team however but thats another discussion, you raised some valid points however re: trouble from that neck of the woods.

mate it was directed more at the bogans that suggested it
