Four 9s .... a good poker hand?

Postby Adelaide Hawk » Sat Apr 26, 2008 5:53 pm

Spelly,

West Adelaide have managed 9 goals in a game in their past four matches. What would be the record for the same number of goals in a game in succession?

Here it is, also in the "Time to attack 999" thread:

Kicking the same amount of goals 4 weeks in succession is not unique:

Torrens between Rds 10 and 13 1929 scored 13.12, 13.7, 13.12 and 13.7
North between Rds 2 and 5 1932 scored 15.17, 15.14, 15.16 and 15.13
West between Rds 2 and 5 1934 scored 15.14, 15.18, 15.16 and 15.14
Sturt between Rds 4 and 7 1948 scored 11.14, 11.18, 11.13 and 11.19
Torrens between Rds 1 and 4 1954 scored 10.8, 10.12, 10.12 and 10.17 (also scoring 10.17 in Round 6)
Glenelg between Rds 3 and 6 1976 scored 17.18, 17.26, 17.13 and 17.14
North between Rds 15 and 18 1981 scored 13.13, 13.19, 13.21 and 13.13

But the outright leader in this stat belongs to Sturt, who kicked 4 goals, 6 matches in a row:
Rd 13 1907: 4.11
Rd 14 1907: 4.8
Rd 2 1908: 4.10
Rd 3 1908: 4.5
Rd 4 1908: 4.5
Rd 5 1908: 4.9

Spelly how does this equate to 6 games in a row.

obviously only 14 games in season 07 and a bye in R1 08?
