Strathalbyn officially played with 32 points in round 1 and only declared 26. According to the rules his is a $1000 fine and loss of premieship points.

Currans quote to Saints club officials was "We will let it go this time" to which the reply was "do all clubs get the same opportunity?" It seems as though Strath will get away with it. What would have happened if they were over the points?

Declared 26 points against the Mudlarks!

Went to the Anzac clash at Morphies yesterday and there was a huge crowd and a great atmosphere, what was it like under lights at Strath.

Strath - Creek games ALWAYS draw HUGE crowds with great atmosphere and would imagine this game would've been no different. I left During the 'B' grade game which was a lacklustre event but sure the crowd would've come to life as the lights came on and the Alcohol started to take effect at the commencement of the Main Event.

was at the strath game 1st time i have seen a GSFL game and had a great time. lights very good and oval excellent. i thought it was a pretty good game with Strath just needing a marking fwd to be more dangerous. thought creek got a great run from one umpire who thought we were there to watch him. excellent bbq and beers very cold with a huge crowd. LOVED it.

I heard a rumour that the Demons had a couple of players in Ryan and Haskett suffer injuries on the weekend.. can anyone shed some light as to how serious they were??
Great night of footy at Strath on Friday night. Very well run by the Strath mob, didn't have to wait too long for a steak sandwich or a beer despite a crowd of about 2,800 apparently... good result too!

Limb Willunga did suffer some injuries. Not sure how serious haskett is and I am not even sure when he left the ground, but he didnt return. Ryan looked ginger early and took himself. I heard the trainer say it was a hammy. I guess when you are winning comfortably you can afford to bring guys off.

As for the Creeks effort, their pressure was the key to winning. Strath could not get any clean possession. One thing it has soughted out is the fact that Willunga will now probably win the flag undefeated.

We did cop some injuries but they should be right for the big game this week. Looking forward to playing Strathalbyn. After not seeing them Friday night it sounds as tho the Creeks shut there running game down and didnt allow them any free space, would this information be correct as i feel they tried the same thing when we played them but when Warren and James went down they lost a bit of drive and we were able to get some free space. We will need to do the same thing as to not allow there quick outside players time to use the ball!

LF very very early in the season to be predicting an undefeated season!! As we saw last year it doesnt matter how well ur going in April to the seasons end result so we certainly arent getting ahead of ourselves.

Flag Betting 'A' Grade
Willunga $1.20
L.Ck $8.00
Strath $8.00

You would think that if this didnt happen soon there would be a case for a special general meeting , or has the executive got its own loophole preventing this.
by the way
Creeks by 1 -10
Compass by 25 - 35
Mudlarks by 30 -40
Victor by 30 - 40
Willunga by 80 -100

Strath declare 26 points again, so it looks like there will be no ammendment to the rule to have it read the way it was intended to and all other clubs are believe it was meant.
Anyway more importantly 5 from 5 in the tips although was surprised by the Bay / Compass
margin particularly with it being at Compass. Have Bays improved from last year or have Compass dropped off.
Great night at Strath - apparently $ 8000 gate.

As everyone has already said, great night at strath It would be great if all rival games could be held as a night game as the atmosphere is exellent.
I few big results on the weekend with Compass only just getting over the bays (word on the street Bas could have kicked the winning goal but missed), Creek over Strath as has been said, Victor smashing the Vale and by the look of things inaccurate kicking by Willunga still won by a big margin and apparently the 10 strong crowd were happy with the result!
BJ looks like you guys were the only club in the league to win all 4 grades on the weekend, both colts games were close but snr grades not so close.

I think Compass have come back to the field a bit, don't think they are playing their best footy yet though. Bays aren't any better than last year.

Willunga 23-17-155 Saints 7-6-48

Ryan with 4 goals, Hams 7, Portlock 4

Just a wild guess

WILLUNGA 22 21 153 .d. GOOLWA/PT ELLIOT 3 10 28

Not a bad guess! Saints weren't quite the 7-6 but still had 13 scoring shots. Hams slotted 9, portlock 2 and ryan 4

C'Mon Jackpot, you would have to be a raving lunatic to take Strath and LC at $8.00 (remembering that LC lost to Willunga by 16 goals)

Flag Betting

Willunga $1.02

The rest $5000

I am happy to take people's money. Minimum bet $100
