Hard Wicket, not far from Uraidla...nice oval but about the only good thing going for it....didnt win a game in 07/08

Kick it to me - staying up in A grade or going back to B's?

AGM next week at Baskets should be very interesting, no descision made as yet but unless club is able to recruit a few more its unlikely. Going back to A2s would probably seem to be best option and try to rebuild in my mind.

Offer for Coach still available basketrangecc.sportzvault.com for more details

I am jsut saying hardwicket is not as enticing to people who have played on turf, especially bowlers. I live in Bridgewater myself but would never ever consider palying in the hills comp, regardless of proximity due to the fact it is hard wicket. Less enjoyable to play on, in my opinion not real cricket and I dont consider the standard anywhere near as good. I dont consider C grade district a decent standard either, especially these days.

P.D.C.A is massive but i dont understand why they havnt considered switching to turf as a gradual transition over their many years of existance, watching their juniors play cricket is painfull as you know 95% of the batsmen would struggle in real cricket(turf i mean) that is what first class cricket is based on.The concept of playing on concrete surely should have been thrown out with the dinosaurs,i know its cheaper and so on but their hasnt been to many standouts from hard wicket, boof, tait i know but boof was a freak, just dont think their kids get the best chance maybe because dad did it and still plays at 50 odd thats the stumbling block.

tough to keep decent turf pitches in the Hills with almost twice as much rainfall as the plains....they would get ruined during footy season and the washouts in summer would be rediculous

A former SA player and District coach played recently and said most HCA teams would beat C grade district sides

C grade district sides are made up of kids trying to live a dream have you noticed the run talleys in district cricket, cricket below b grade is ordinary at best at district clubs.

alot of C grade district clubs use the C grade as a development team
alot of young guys with a few older blokes to mentor them and help develop them
there is a decent step up from C's to B's in district cricket!
