Whats Meakin up to at Christies Beach - the guy is still out there trying to poach players from every club
going round. Offering some huge coin around the place as well. Dont think I would be 2 happy if I was a
Christies boy and hearing what he is offering guys from other clubs when some of his own players get
a bag of chips and a can of coke. Reynella, Morphett Vale and a few other clubs are dirty as hell with him
cause he just wont stop ringing there players.

nature of the beast this modern game of footy.
If Players are happy at their clubs, they will stay.
Glenelg God i have been in a situation playing A grade footy getting a coke and bag of chips when new recriuts have come in and got good coin. My reward was making some very good mates and a few premierships on the way.
No biggy.

Not sure about the "big coin" statement as Christies hasn't been one of those clubs renowned for throwing the $$$ around.
If Meakins sees a player that is playing 2nds that would fit into his Christies side why wouldn't you just find out what the player is doing ?
At least he is being active in trying to improve his playing list.

Nice pick up Rodney... Your new recruit should be a good fit for your upcpming side. The playing group/senior coaches were disappointed with his decision to move on. He has been a part of 3 senior premierships and the club takes pride in it's ability to be able to hang on to our "home grown" talent.

Yeah in my mind he was a certainty for Chrisities, some last minute grovelling might have worked

He has a lot of mates at Aldinga and we were completely honest with how we are and what we want him to do. Was a curve ball I was surprised myself when he said he was coming to training but now the paper works done were happy as hell.

Impressed on the track already, Meakins will hate Aldinga even more now I'd imagine. You can tell i'm spewing about that.

Ha ha exactly.

Have to say the attitude this guy has is great and even for him even if he does return to Emu land one day it's good to see him enthusiastic about his footy. That stuff rubs off on everyone around when you have quality players so young.

Just another cog in the wheel that will make this weekend even better, fills a much needed hard ball role we needed.

Liam Shrive. Not sure if many know of him but like I said before he fits exactly the role we need. Very happy to have him, getting any player thats played in the last 2 A grade premierships at any club let alone the Emu's is a massive bonus. Look forward to the weekend ahead.

When I read 'hard ball role', I was wondering if Ridder had jumped across to Aldinga.

Good luck to Liam, huge call to leave a successful club & potentially another grand final appearance to a club who has struggled in recent years (but is the club everyone expects to move upwards the most).

What we are giving Liam is not by any means near what other clubs pay but like I said before we are being completely honest and compensating him to ensure he is satisfied with Aldinga. Liam is at any stage welcome to negotiate his payments like all players and is happy to be a part of a club that is moving forward.

Yes it is a big call coming from somewhere like MV and by no means we would ever say anything bad about their club and neither would he. People leave for different reasons and Money was certainly not it he is as excited as we are about the potential in years ahead.

Is that enough of a spin for you  ha ha

Played in the 2005 B grade flag when he was still an U/18, and has played in the last 2 A grade. From memory 2006 would've been an on ball position and last year was half back.

Aldinga. Shrive will be the difference!

But seriously, Aldinga I think have improved and obviously are getting more and more confidence with every game. Lonsdale on the other hand seem to have taken a step back on there improvements of the last couple of years. Could be to do with the uncertainty of there home oval or has that all been cleared up now?
