This week Reynella v Brighton the big one to watch, a lot af talk about both teams recruits, I think Winies in a close one then both teams coming up against Emus in the next 2 weeks, We will soon get an idea of where these teams are at. I have got a bit of feeler out at Happy Valley and they could be the sleeping giants of 2008 - so they say

Yes agree that Happy Valley could be sleeping giants for this season - they defeated Flaggies tonight by about 4 goals - but looked very good - the falcons were kept in the game with some very good kicking for goal and a never give up attitude - a great game to watch before a good crowd

just came from down brighton way. It was a super contest as expected. Reynella were the comfortable leaders going into half time with Milo about 4 -5 to his name. Brighton were a different team in the 2nd half and the match became scrappy after the free flowing first half. Reynella held them off though, with brighton making the difference only 9 points with 5-10 mins left. The winies eventually came away with the win, kicking a few late to push the result in their favour. Toddy Johnsone was awesome as usual for the bombers and presscot killed it for Reynella. teams need to still tag these two players as they both run a muck with no attention. Moore was brilliant in the last quarter when the match was there for the taking. braddy, butcher, and a few others still to return for reynella.

Geez, go the twisties. Lonsdale minus Baxter and Loveridge will hurt them through the year one suspects.....

Go the twisties but where does this leave the Lions - obviously there is no depth in the Bs as they got thrashed and no juniors, is 2008 the end for them

Ben Moore must have played well for the flys, i couldn't believe some of the scores that come out of the weekend, have christies improved or have Noarlungs just come back to the pack a bit, and what has happened to Lonsdale looks like it could be a long year for the Lions boys.

The Lions started slow and had a few first choice players out before the game and had no bench by the end. They haven't stepped back from previous years, if anything they've improved. Thats not taking anything away from Morphie Parks though. They've improved a lot and will surprise a lot of teams this year (and not just the bottom 8 sides) with their fast running game.

Aldinga Vs Hackham.

All credit to Hackham the Kelly brothers have done alot more than we thought and expected I feel. Im not gonna make any statements to how we played just was very impressed with the hardness and most of all run that Hackham had. I think alot of sides will be curious to play them if they can hold that group together as the depth does seem to be a bit of an issue.

Well done To Morphy Parks aswell very keen to get our game under way against them this week. Think It'll be a great match up with two question mark sides. Both by the sound of it have recruited very well and want this weeks win more then anything. For either side to be 2-0 will be a big confidence booster.

Also seems that Reynella have backed up the criticism good signs ahead for a big year I reckon.

Can anyone tell me who won out of Porties and Cove?

Good to see victories for Morphie Park and Aldinga. Magic Man i hope you get round to apologising for slagging me off for picking the Twisties over Lonsdale!!

Emus beat Marion fairly comfortabley, i hope Marion are paying Stokes by the goal (and not be the pound) as didnt see much of him, and the much talked up Wes Bilney was fairly quiet as well.

Would have loved to see the Brighton vs Reynella game, but we'll get a good look at Brighton this Friday!

Interesting to hear that he is obviously a skillful player and moves pretty well but didn't live upto the hype IMO.

Bilney didn't have his usual game however still picked up a few touches; still needs to get used to teh different styles of play between the two comps. Stokes... lets just say he had quite a few mates who also under performed.
