Yes Go the Bombers, Luke played in the A grade and did ok seeing it was his first game coming from North U19s. The real dissapointment was our Bs but hopefully they improve! Noticed that Chad Appleby kicked 7 goals for Hope Valley on the weekend. We might have to work hard and get him back. He would be handy amongst our young lads with his experience.
It was an interesting round with a few suprises. Seaton did well to be close to Gaza, Gepps suprised to be close to Gaza and Port Districts suprised to be close to Henley. TTG were big winners suggesting ROCs may be in for a long season and Broadies were close to Salisbury North who look improved on last year. It may be a close competition after all!

Districts had Maddern (capt), Perry (VC), Smart, Assouad, Lynch, all out, so thats 3 very handy defenders and 2 quick players that add a bit of run and fitness. Smart pulled out Fri night. They called up a 17 year old that played 1 trial game last week and didnt get a kick, very surprised by that decision. Been out at Westies U/19 i think. Smart, Lynch, Assouad should all be back and maybe one of Perry and Maddern. Should be a much better looking side.
Yes Districts were 4 goals up, the youngsters were playing well, but fell away. Not enough experience. Should be better this week, but a tough ask going to Goodwood.

We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Agreed 1eyed , i dont think Roger was too disappointed with the result . Is alot of room for improvement with key players to come back . Still would of be nice to shut down the game and hang on for a win but that's Rogers style to keep attacking while in front .
What i dont know about football isnt worth knowing .

Yep Will Lynch is the one, bit skinny for A grade, might be ok once he eats!
I didnt think Kelly was BOG, but his Roger's new love child! I thought Steed kept them in the game as they got flogged out the middle again!

FN, not sure if you were actually at the Broadies game to make the comment about it being close, my idea of a 12 goal loss is certainly somewhat different to yours.

Hawk, as you know , the final siren doesn't sound ten minutes into the last quarter. Goodwood were very good, and still the Benchmark!
Gepps didn't stop trying all day, in what was a high class game of footy.

Hey Rupert no mention from me about it being a close game. Maybe you should re read my post. We were in fact right in it until half time and then S. North hurt us in the 3rd Quarter. We dont boast about close games like you as our history is about winning games. What I said was dont give up as there were some good signs. Look forward to playing you this week and letting you boast about being close again.

FootyNut.Looking forward to Saturday's game.Dont be a stranger and come over to the Gepps crowd and introduce yourself. We wont bite (much).I will be there as will a few other guys that post on here.We are all keen to put a face to the name.Alternatley I will be in your bar at half time (I gather it will be open)with a few Gepps guys.
No boasting for us coming off a loss just looking for a win this week.

Speaking of putting faces to names....Will rupert my boy be out there on Saturday??

My tip is Gepps by less than 4 goals (does that make it a close one). Broadies might struggle a little this year and Gepps look to be improving. Pete Smith to kick 5, Chris Clonan 35 disposals (rarely misses the Best players two weeks in a row), Seems like that players are impressed with new coach from what I hear.

FN, I suggest you go back to page 45 and look at the last posting which states;

"ROCs may be in for a long season and Broadies were close to Salisbury North who look improved on last year"

That my friend is in your own words so if you didn't say it, who in the hell did? Get another set of glasses, preferably with a lense in them then you won't make silly mistakes.

Not too sure about being there on Sat., depends on the weather.
