The creeks have won more games than Willunga in the past 2 years, will sides boycott playing them? Will the league ask them to play in the River Murray League??
Every club has its ups and downs, players will retire and move on and with the list getting a bit older we have some good young players coming through, in the 2s and under 17s and hopefully these players do fill the void that will be left behind when they retire. Some exciting challenges ahead for us.

The RMFL is desperate for an 8th club, but i'm not sure the existing clubs would be happy to take Willunga on board given that they would be likely to dominate. I reckon the best way to go is some type of official forum where delegates from various leagues get together and discuss which clubs should go where. Willunga to Southern League seems common sense to me.

I think BJ was tlaking about Creeks going to the RMFL, weren't you BJ?
It is unfair to ask or make a club change leagues just because they have become so dominant. There last two flags weren't easy (not that any are), going on season form they weren't favourites to win the last two and this year i think Strath might go close to knocking them off. I think the last thing the SFL needs is another side that will beat the bottom teams by 40-50 goals.

I was talking about the creeks but im not suggesting they should have a look at it. Just throwing examples out there.
No club will be going anywhere, 10 teams is perfect. Every club has its times where its going well, and these times do come to an end.
Damian i am hearing very positive things about Strathalbyn that they are setting themselves up to take the next step past the prelim.

Yankalilla V Mclaren
Myponga V Strath
Victor V Mt Compass
Willunga V L Creek
Saints V Enc Bay
Interesting matches this week. I think Yank will get over the top off Mclaren at home, Strath to beat Pongy by 5 goal, Victor to upset Compass in a close one. Willunga to beat Creeks by ten goals and Saints to beat bays by 5 or 6 goals.

Depth is obviously a big problem and it must drop away pretty quickly. Sounds like the Saints need to concentrate on working with the juniors to ensure the senior list is of a good quality in the future. Just a thought.

I'm going to go for...well who cares about Yank vs McLaren! Strath to beat Mypo by 8-10 goals, Compass to beat Victor by 2 goals, Willunga to beat Creeks by 5 goals and Encounter Bay to win by 4 goals.

LuvsFooty wrote:Strath looked like a quality side yesterday! They haven't made wholesale changes, but they have added Burgess up forward who takes some of the pressure off Duffield, they have got an extra big man down back (Allen possibly) and their new ruckman looks to be a very good player. They look to have the extra components to challenge Willunga. As for the Saints, deep down a loss was expected but not to that extent. As mentioned last week it will be the Saints depth thats the problem. 7 out of our best side yesterday and the guys that came in are not A grade players (me included). We will need a major turn around next weekend.
Just on a side note it was very interesting to see so many new faces at Strath but only 2 players on the team sheet were more than 1 point players. Burgess is interesting. I would love to know his history and how he is a 1 point player after getting cleared from Broadview. Is he an ex Strath junior? Has he been out of the game for 2 years?
