Manou...still a way to go IMHO to show the consistancy of Ronchi over the past three years with both bat and gloves.

I will say behind Ronchi you could throw a blanket over the rest.

Paine (overtook Clingleffer in Tassie this year),
Hartley (gone backwards or hasn't developed as quickly as others over the past 12 months), Clingleffer (rate him very highly still),
Manou (needs to back up last years work to be a chance (IMO))

and then further back to Croswaite, Wade and Smith
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Can anyone tell me why CA "centrally contract" 25 players. i think it smack of having too much money- money which should go back to grassroots cricket. some on the list arent exactly close to an aussie call up (voges this year- and the two cullens last)
A list of 15-18 is more than enough- what are the others going to do ...change countries?

One of the reasons is to make cricket my attractive to the young blokes coming through the system such as Clarke, Tait etc so they don't go to footy like Luke Hodge, Delidio, Shannon Hurn etc.

Cricket knows the talented young skilled athletes they want are the same young skilled athletes that play footy (in WA, VIC and SA) and Rugby in the Eastern States. So to make cricket more attractive they contract more players centrally which gives the States more scope to contract players.

Must take my hat off to Bollinger after a superb domestic campaign. Have to admit that I didn't really rate him as a bowler initially.
Once you have been contracted for "x" number of years, you must be entitled to a certain amount of money. I say that because I can't understand why Bracken is on so much because IMHO Bollinger is much more likely to be playing test cricket in the future than Bracken.

I think with Bollenger and Katich CA are really rewarding first class performers. They did the hard work and have been rewarded.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards
