Wow, first game for the season in 2 days and the HFL still hasnt updated their website. What a joke! Maybe Owen should stop trying to get his face in the courier every week and update the website instead.

Agree. It's a disgrace. No programmes, nothing. It's pathetic and nearly two seasons out of date.

ah footballer long time no post my tips are:
Mt Lofty to beat Uraidla with a fresh young new look side! will be a very close game tho. will be interesting to see who lines up on Loffler, D.K usually gets the Job however in the last few trials has been playing through the midfield?
Lofty by 2 goals

Hahndorf easily over birdwood, Hahndorf by 10

Ironbank should beat Onkas, will be another awesome game the only difference may be the oval (ironbank at home)
Ironbank by 3 goals

Mt Barker will SMASH Lobethal Nash Stark is the only new player at lobey and plenty have left eg. Sziller, King, Coad. Lobey i would say are early favourites for the spoon
Mt Barker by 15 goals

Blackwood over Bridgey, Bridgey have several talented young players however they dont have any real stand out older players to make bridgey a top 5 side. They will make Blackwood work though Blackwood by 5 goals

Round 1 Tips

Mt Lofty v Uraidla Districts - Uri's only narrowly. I just can't see who is going to kick Lofty's goals this season.

Hahndorf v Birdwood - Way too strong against an improving Birdwood.

Ironbank v Onka Valley - Going for an upset here. I think Onka's are a genuine premiership contender. Ironbank need to win as many games at home as possible because they wont beat any of the other Top 5 contenders away from Thunder Park.

Mt Barker v Lobethal - Barkers by 20+ goals. End of an era at Lobethal. Will be lucky to win a game this season.

Bridgewater v Blackwood - Premiership contender Blackwood easily against the regular cellar dwellar Pirates.

Not 100% on this but heard former Sturt junior Josh Sidebottom might be suiting up for Blackwood in 08. Would be another handy inclusion for the woodys if true...

I have heard that Ironbank's oval may not be suitable for footy for the first few rounds. Evidently hasnt been watered at all since last season. Were using the Blackwood golf course's bore, but due to recent weather they have put an end to it. Any truth to this thunderers? Is it as hard as a rock?

lol its in the same condition as it is every time this year.

It was rolled (and watered  ) all cricket season... The hfl had an inspection during cricket finals (* remember the massive heat wave) of course it was not in condition for footy.

We have played 2 trial games on it this season and i havnt heard one complaint from either teams

Are onkas looking for excuses already?

lofty-uris... a big score may be harder for us this yr but i think the same thing that won us the last two flags will help us win again.. much too quick for uris.

hahn-bird..... should be a good chance for some of hahns recruits to warm to hills footy as not all have played yet.. 18 goal

ironb-onkas..... apparently the smith??? bros are about the same size as chris shee and can both play the game. cant see i.b having the size to combat that. 7 goals

barker-lobe..... not much to say here.. 20 goals

bridgy-black..... saw a bit of bridgy game vs barmara and both sides were ordinary so ill go for the revamped blkwood by 17 goals. shanty do have a couple of good young blokes though. stucky, smith, and pohl all good to watch.

Apart from the oval being small I didn't have a problem with it.
Certainly didn't suit our style of play.
And as for the shed, I've seen a lot worse...

Anyone notice that the central draw has been changed?

BlackwoodFC still have the previous version up, could create some confusion.
