Same old, same old Mav... he will be keeping the Lions midfield afloat again this year... supplemented by new recruit Aaron Bayliss....

A good tough footballer if he's anything like he was as a kid.

Should be an interesting trial match this weekend with South Gawler playing Willaston... always a hard match!
Particularly tough for the Donnybrooks as they have to play for points the week after while South will enjoy the bye

Texas, I heard that south had a trial lined up with North Clare for this weekend but pulled out, do you know what the story is here, scared of being thumped maybe????

I cant help you on this one Rupert07, but im sure what you are suggesting isnt quite true.

Perhaps an ex-South player pleaded with North Clare not to play the lions for fear of getting his head smashed in...who knows????

Wouldn't think Ellis would be frightened of anyone running around in the hoops ... thought he may have enjoyed the opportunity to play against his old club .

I mentioned this scenario to a former Willaston player and his reply was WHO ?? yes he knew ocker was a former coach and had played with silvy in his early days but to suggest there is a rivalry between Willaston & BD because of these nobody's is a slap in the face to the 3 Gawler Clubs and the 100+ years of tradition they have carved out.

I read in the Bunyip yesterday the preview of all teams for the upcoming season...

It would appear that most 'experts' have Barossa and Tanunda as the teams that will be playing off in this years GF, with either Nuri or Angaston to finish bottom

I also noticed that Willaston have lost a few players but have not seemed to acquire any new faces over he off-season, could be an interesting year for the Donnybrooks!

Is Paul Foster still running around for the Donnybrooks ?

He and his brother painted my house at Largs Bay a few years back and was playing at Willaston back then , his name used to bob up in the best players from time to time .

I went out to watch this game... both sides had a copule missing and it was an even game with South running over the top of the Donny's by around 14 points in the end...
